This fantastically gorgeous Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Series 1 coupe left the factory on the 26th February 1962, to be supplied to the New York based importer Jaguar Cars N.Y. on the 13th March 1962. It finally found it’s way to its first owner in San Francisco, California on the 9th July 1962. Over a period of over five years, between 2005-2010, this car underwent a complete mechanical overhaul and body-off restoration. This ‘Bare-Metal/Rotisserie restoration took place in Canada. It was carried out to a high professional level with plenty of photographic evidence. The superb straight bodywork has excellent body panel fittings. The wonderful interior trim with its highly valued aluminium inlay is as good as new. It has an ‘Emerald Green Metallic’ finish with beige leather upholstery. All of the electric and mechanical components have been overhauled as well as the, to name a few items, engine, suspension, driveline, and cable loom. The chrome elements and paintwork are again as good as new. This Jaguar also sports a number of upgrades such as: Getrag 5-speed gearbox, electronic ignition, ‘spin-on’ oil filter conversion, enlarged front brake claws, a modern cooling fan and a stainless steel exhaust system. The car has its original, matching numbers, 3.8 engine, complete with a Jaguar Heritage certificate. This is a series 1 E-Type in top-quality condition!
