Introduced in 1958, Jaguar's compact "Sports car for four" offered sparkling performance in a compact, well-constructed unit-body package. The Mk II, recognizable by the centre bar of its radiator grille and different side lamps, turn signals, and flush-mounted fog lights, appeared in 1959. It offered a wider rear track, larger windows, power-assisted disc brakes at all for corners, and a bit of additional brightwork.
BHE is finished in excellent condition both externally and mechanically. The current vendor purchased the MKII in 1990 and had her imported from South Africa. In the history file there is every invoice and MOT since this point! The level of care taken with is certainly meticulous and this has been a well-loved car.
The exterior is finished in a deep shade of grey, thanks to the recent re-spray the paint is still holding a high level of sheen, the quality of work is excellent and would be fitting for any concours. When you open the doors your are met by an abundance of high quality red leather, the seat centres are fluted and all of the leather is in excellent condition. The red interior continues down to the floor with perfectly fitted red carpets with red leather piping.
The 3.8 Litre engine was subject to a full rebuild in 2013, the full extent of the work is include in the thick folder of invoices and includes a full strip down, new pistons, liners and a no expenses spared rebuild. She glides beautifully along the road and is in our showroom and ready for viewing.
