Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary 1989

General description : Furlonger are delighted to offer this superb Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary finished in Rosso Siviglia over Beige leather with Rosso piping and carpets.
This wonderful example was supplied new in November of 1989 by Portman Lamborghini, Brentford. Due to the 25th Anniversary’s limited production numbers and being the final run of Countach’s, their values increased dramatically and lead to enthusiasts & collectors comfortably paying a heavy premium just months after being delivered. Due to these rising values, the first owner decided not to drive the car but carefully store it until selling it to its second owner for over double the list price just four months later. The second owner, a luxury jeweller in Glasgow, decided to use the car for display purposes in order to attract more business. Although it may have seemed ludicrous, the eye catching Countach drew plenty of attention. (This is not the first Lamborghini used for display purposes either). The car spent 7 years as part of the Jewellers display, covering minimal mileage before then being sold in 1997 to its third owner, a gentleman who owned various Vauxhall dealers in Scotland.
The car was lightly driven before then being sold to its current owner in 2005 with a mere 4,500 miles on the clock. The Countach was then thoroughly enjoyed and regularly used, while being maintained by specialists as and when required. In 2011 the car was put into long term storage until 2019 when Furlonger acquired the car for sale. Furlonger workshops were instructed to carry out a comprehensive recommissioning of the Countach Anniversary prior to marketing it for sale. The extensive list of works included an engine out major service, replacement of all oil seals and O rings, a new clutch, a complete engine bay detail and re-plating, all new auxiliary’s, A/C conversion, all new door/boot/bonnet rubbers, re-polished wheels and a full repaint to the entire body. Photographs of the cars preparation process are available upon request*
The Countach Anniversary has been completely prepared, carefully checked over and now marketed for sale, presenting an excellent opportunity to own what is likely one of the best Countach Anniversary’s available today. Accompanying the car is its original leather book pack, service handbook, multiple MOT certificates and various invoices.
The Lamborghini Countach is one of the most distinctive super-cars ever built. Designed and conceptualized by Bertone, adopting a sharply angled ‘’wedge’’ styling, this became increasingly popular as more versions were built between 1974 and 1990. Built to celebrate the company’s twenty-fifth anniversary in 1988, the car had a very similar mechanical setup to that of the 5000QV but featured some considerable changes to its body, carried out by Horacio Pagani. As the last Countach ever built, many would agree that this was the most refined and arguably the most outrageous.

About Lamborghini
Ah, the fiery tale of Lamborghini, a true icon born from the sparks of frustration with the Prancing Horse! Picture yourself in the early 1960s, a time when the automotive world was dominated by the likes of Ferrari. Now, enter Ferruccio Lamborghini, a successful tractor manufacturer and a man with a passion for powerful machines.

Act 1: The Frustration (1963)
Ferruccio, a proud owner of several Ferraris, found himself dissatisfied with the clutch in his 250 GT. Frustrated, he marched into Enzo Ferrari's office to air his grievances. The meeting didn't go as planned, with Enzo dismissing Ferruccio's concerns, suggesting that he stick to building tractors. Well, that was like waving a red flag at a bull.

Act 2: The Birth of Lamborghini (1963)
Fuelled by a mixture of frustration and determination, Ferruccio decided to take matters into his own hands. In 1963, he founded Automobili Lamborghini. His vision? To create grand touring cars that rivaled, or even surpassed, the offerings of Ferrari.

Act 3: The Pioneering Models (1960s-1970s)
And thus, the Lamborghini legend began with the release of the Miura in 1966. Designed by Marcello Gandini, this mid-engined masterpiece was a trailblazer, the world's first true supercar. With a V12 engine mounted behind the driver, the Miura set the standard for performance and style.

Following the Miura's success, Lamborghini introduced the iconic Countach in the early '70s. Marcello Gandini once again worked his magic, giving birth to a wedge-shaped wonder that became a poster child for a generation. The Countach wasn't just a car; it was an automotive revolution.

Act 4: The Design Maestros
Behind the scenes, designers like Marcello Gandini and later Giugiaro played pivotal roles in shaping Lamborghini's distinct aesthetic. Gandini's work on the Miura and Countach cemented Lamborghini's reputation for bold, angular designs that pushed the boundaries of automotive styling.

Act 5: The Legacy and Modern Marvels
As the decades unfolded, Lamborghini continued to innovate and produce iconic models. The Diablo, Murciélago, Aventador, and the more recent Huracán and Urus all carry the Lamborghini DNA – a perfect blend of power, performance, and unmistakable design.

Epilogue: A Fierce Rivalry
The Lamborghini-Ferrari rivalry became legendary, driving both companies to push the limits of automotive engineering. Lamborghini, born out of frustration, emerged not just as a competitor but as a trailblazer, leading the way for mid-engined supercars that continue to captivate enthusiasts worldwide.

So, there you have it, the epic saga of Lamborghini – a story of frustration turned into a symphony of roaring engines, sleek designs, and a legacy that forever changed the landscape of high-performance automobiles.
