General description : Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is pleased to offer this rare 1991 Lotus Elan M100. Just 3,855 examples were produced between 1989 and 1992 making this a great find. This Elan M100 is the turbocharged variant producing approximately 162 horsepower. The motor in this Lotus is an Isuzu sourced 1,588cc turbocharged inline 4 cylinder. This motor was extensively modified by Lotus. Some of the modifications to the engine include a new exhaust system, rerouted intake plumbing, improved engine suspension, and modifications to the engine control unit to improve torque and boost response. Within the last 2 years a lot of work, time, and money has gone into making this Lotus the beautiful car it is today. In that time, it received a new PPG paint finish, a new convertible top, new seat upholstery, new carpeting, and all general maintenance was performed. This car has always been garage kept. These M100’s is known for their controllability and excellent handling. It is not often that a front wheel drive sports car performs as well as this in the corners.
