For sale is this stunning 1972 Mercury Cougar Convertible is in our Louisville showroom. This Gold XR7 looks as if it could of out of the showroom just yesterday versus 46 years ago. The original color according to the data tag on the was a brownish red (2B). The Cougar has been repainted in beautiful Gold (color code 2415). Under the hood is the factory 351 Cleveland V8. The engine has been updated with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock Carburetor, Chrome Valve Covers, Chrome Breather and a K&N reusable air filter. The alternator now has a chrome case as well which really dresses up the engine compartment. Most likely this Cougar has attended a few car shows with the level of cleanliness it has. Inside the black interior is in great shape and looks to have judging by just how crisp everything is. The odometer has 4802 on it but the current owner cannot confirm if it is actual. All anyone really needs to know is this Cougar had been meticulously kept up and is just simply drop dead gorgeous! The black vinyl power top is in very good shape. With the push of a button, the top raises or lowers with ease. The black vinyl interior looks to be in excellent shape with no rip or tears. The black top looks to be in great shape. At the flip of a button, the top will go up or down. The current owner has owned this drop top pony for 1 year and he has a folder full of receipts for it.
