Porsche 356 full rally spec, lovely driver 1963

General description : We have a very cool Porsche 356B Karmann Coupé in complete rally rendition for sale. The car was delivered from new on the 18th March 1963. The previous owner had the car for 25 years and clearly looked after it well. Recently the gearbox had an overhaul and servicing schedules were always strictly adhered to. All this and more is to be found in the extensive accompanying documentation. The Porsche participated in various classic car rallys after the car had wide-ranging preparation for the events. The car was fitted out with sports exhaust, sports rims with broader tyres, bucket seats for extra side support, the stipulated roll-bar, a trip meter and of course a set of Carello spotlights. This Porsche 356 B Karmann Coupé is a true drivers car. The car is obviously ready for any kind of rally or sporty road miles. Mechanically the car is totally sound. This Porsche has a 90 Hp Porsche 912 engine, this together with the low 900 kg weight, allowing for a speedy get-away at anytime. The chassis has some minor signs of wear but is rust-free. The neat bodywork and panels have perfect shut lines. The quality of the paintwork is neat. The interior trim sports those body-hugging bucket seats and has a sunroof for extra cooling on warm days. In other words this is a car that you do not have to worry when the car in front sprays up small road grit or stones or having to worry driving it in the rain. This is definitely no car that is going to win first prize concours d'elegance op Villa d'Este, but choose your route wisely and you will have more fun than all the prize winners put together. Let’s face it; this is what Porsche designed this car for! If you are in the market for a mechanically sound Porsche 356 B Coupé and you are more a driver than a polisher, then this is the Porsche 356 B Karmann Coupé for you! About Porsche 356
The Porsche 356 is an iconic sports car that was produced from 1948 to 1965. It is considered to be the first production car to bear the Porsche name and is known for its unique design and exceptional performance.

The 356 was initially designed by Ferdinand Porsche in the late 1940s as a lightweight and nimble sports car that could be used for racing. The first prototypes were built using Volkswagen components, as Porsche was still closely associated with the German automaker at the time. However, the final design of the 356 was a significant departure from the VW Beetle, and featured a sleek, aerodynamic body that was both beautiful and functional.

Over the years, the 356 evolved through several iterations, each of which added new features and improved performance. The early models were powered by a 1.1-liter flat-four engine that produced around 40 horsepower, while later models featured larger engines with up to 130 horsepower.

Despite its humble beginnings, the Porsche 356 quickly became a favorite among driving enthusiasts, both on the road and the racetrack. Its combination of style, performance, and handling made it a true sports car icon, and it helped to establish Porsche as one of the world's leading automakers. Today, the 356 remains a highly sought-after collector's car, with prices that can range from tens of thousands to millions of dollars, depending on the model and condition.
