General description :
ABOUT THIS CLASSICOnce in a while you get a car that makes you fall in love with it even if you want it or not. This 1972 Porsche 911 Targa “ oelklappe “ does exactly that. This is not your run of the mill F model Porsche 911. This so called “ restomod “ looks like a standard 911S but is far from that. The former owner wanted an early 911 which he could drive every day. The overall state of this car is impeccable. Our 911 was body off restored in 2003 and modified for daily use. Because of circumstances the car was hardly driven since. Following modifications where made: Undercarriage was rebuilt to drive more comfortable. A fully revised 3.0 litre Super Carrera engine with a double Weber carburettor system where mounted. A rebuilt 915 gearbox was placed to get all the power on the ground. Break systems of a later 911. Original Recaro tilt frame seats. Lo jack system, Porsche classics radio with navigation and much more. The “ Gran prix weiss “ paint on this 911 is perfect and the car is completely equipped as an S model inside and out. In short an exceptional car for the real driver. Call 0031623679846 for more information. We ship to any location in the world. Ask our partner FreightHammer for a free shipping quote! ClassicDigest Market Radar on Porsche 911 Early LWB
The early Porsche 911 long wheelbase models, also known as the "L" models, were produced from 1968 to 1973. They were named so because of their longer wheelbase, which increased by 2.4 inches from the previous models. The longer wheelbase provided a smoother and more stable ride, and also allowed for more interior space.
The long wheelbase models were powered by air-cooled, flat-six engines, with displacement ranging from 2.0L to 2.4L. They were available in coupe and Targa body styles, and were equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. Notable features of the long wheelbase 911s include their distinctive "ducktail" rear spoiler and Fuchs alloy wheels.
These early 911s are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, pure as swb cars but easier to drive and handling better.
