PACIFIC PEARL
Thanks to a comprehensive, nut-and-bolt restoration, this ferocious F1 wraps timeless Chevrolet style around 21st century comfort and brutal performance! The foundation for that multi-generational appeal is a clean body that was stripped completely bare before being massaged strikingly straight. Those lines were coated in custom 2-stage that takes Chevrolet's familiar Pacific Blue pigment and dials up the pearl. And today, mere weekend miles out of the paint shop, this Camaro steals the show and owns the street!
At the front of this coupe, a familiar Rally Sport grille centers a bright 'SS' emblem between hidden headlights, a polished bumper, a small spoiler and requisite Rally Sport parking lamps. Above that grille, a Camaro-branded header leads a low Cowl Induction Hood, which fronts stainless-trimmed glass that's wrapped in tight white vinyl. At the sides of that glass, bright rocker trim traces hooped door handles and tasteful 'Camaro SS' badging between factory mirrors and factory marker lamps. And at the back of that profile, a second polished bumper reflects an 'SS' branded fuel cap between a familiar D80 spoiler and stainless-trimmed Rally Sport tail lamps.
ZZESTFUL
Take a close look at this Chevy's pearl nose stripe and you'll notice a nice touch of 3-letter customization that hints at one thing: bigger. Bigger power, bigger speed and bigger presence! That's right, between those badges, 502 cubic inches of Chevrolet Performance ZZ502 spins roughly 600 horsepower into roughly 597 lb./ft. of blur-inducing torque! A perfect mixture of oxygen and fuel is supplied by an electronically-choked Holley 4-barrel, which floats stainless fluid lines between a saucer-style air cleaner and an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake. That intake is bolted between lightweight Edelbrock Victor 24 heads, which seal snazzy, Chevrolet Orange valve covers under a polished breather and a polished oil cap. Those heads work well with a hydraulic roller cam, which is sequenced to a forged steel crank, forged and shot-peened rods and forged aluminum pistons. Spark is provided by hot MSD 6A ignition, which sequences spark between an MSD Blaster SS coil, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor and loomed GM Performance Parts plug wires. Spent gases roll through coated Lemons tubes. At the front of those headers, a billet serpentine drive spins a Stewart water pump between a polished AC compressor and a polished alternator. And that pump feeds an aluminum Griffin radiator that's outfitted with GM-stamped hoses and a spry Derale puller fan.
EVEN BETTER
Behind that 4-bolt block, a Gearstar 4L60E Level 4 4-speed utilizes app-controlled HGM Compushift software to spin a dressed GM 12-bolt. That 5-figure drivetrain is framed by a thoughtfully upgraded suspension that's finished with tubular control arms, modern coil-overs and adjustable QA-1 shocks. When the road starts to twist, spry power rack-and-pinion steering maximizes driver input. Power-assisted stops are provided by retrofitted calipers and four vented discs. Spent gases race from the aforementioned headers in to coated, 3-inch exhaust that bends an X-shaped crossover in front of coated Flowmaster mufflers. Rubber scars the pavement thanks to dramatic American Racing Rally Wheels, which turn 235/50ZR17 Nitto Neo Gens in front of 275/50ZR17 Nitto NT555 G2s. And spotless Pacific Blue Pearl floors set the perfect backdrop for a roster of high quality details.
DELUXE
The Deluxe Blue Interior hiding behind this Camaro's short doors is a mostly factory affair that, 52 years after its debut, is still both stylish and cool. Short bucket seats frame a wood-trimmed console, which toggles a factory shifter that's discreetly modified to work with the car's choice transmission. In front of that island, a body-matched dash hangs stainless-trimmed foot pedals below blue-lit Dakota Digital telemetry and Vintage Air climate control. That seat, dash and console trifecta is completely framed by a tight headliner, fade-free side panels and clean carpet that's protected by 'Camaro' branded mats. There's a hidden Bluetooth sound system that keeps the tunes torqued. And the driver spins a color-keyed Rally Wheel around a modern, tilting column.
With its awesome big block, cool aesthetics and road-ready chassis, this Camaro is the very definition of American muscle.
