Chevrolet Coupe 1934

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Do a quick Google Image search for 'hot rod' or 'street rod' and you'll see two predominant patterns: a whole lot of flames and a whole lot of Fords. While it's hard not to love a good set of flames, brand loyalty can definitely stand between some enthusiasts and a Ford. Heck, even if you're a blue oval diehard, it's still nice to see something different every now and then. That's why this 1934 Chevy is such a refreshing change of pace. A lot of time, money and effort was invested into making this classic one of the coolest bowties on the block, and the quality of that plight shows throughout. From its custom chassis and proven 350 to its svelte paint and custom Paul Atkins interior, the car features the best of everything without drifting in to the dreaded 'too nice to drive' territory. Ready to experience a different kind of rod? Take a close look at this killer Chevy!
TIMELESS APPEAL
Built to be cruised, this top-notch classic is constructed from high quality fiberglass that's both attractive and durable thanks to a detailed, ground-up build. That build, documented through a series of photos, was finished with classy Burgundy two-stage. And today, the car rolls as a timeless tribute to the dawn of hot rodding! Handsome aesthetics kick off with a horned bumper, which guards a polished grille, fiberglass fenders and Chevrolet Twilite headlights. Behind that grille, a Deco Chevrolet Eagle leads a steel, four-piece hood, which stretches classy stainless toward a three-inch chopped greenhouse. That smoked glass, cleared by a polished wiper, gets reflected in factory-style mirrors, which complement factory-style door handles. Fiberglass running boards flow to a second set of fiberglass fenders that are finished with 'CHEVROLET' branded Blue Dot Taillights. And out back, a second horned bumper guards a traditional trunk handle and a stainless-capped fuel tank.
CHEVROLET POWER
Check this coupe's smooth engine bay and you'll find 350 cubic inches of proven GM small block that turns solid power into miles of smiles! At the top of that burgundy mill, a polished air cleaner balances a trick spinner opposite a coated Edelbrock carburetor that's sequenced to a coated pump and an electronic choke. That carb feeds a familiar Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, which feeds lightweight Edelbrock Performer RPM heads. A spry Mallory Unilite distributor sequences fire through loomed Taylor plug wires. Spent gases are jettisoned through coated block hugger headers. Billet pulleys spin a color-keyed AC compressor opposite a color-keyed alternator. At the front of those ancillaries, a requisite Walker radiator makes excellent use of a Burgundy-tinged puller fan. And the builder's keen sense of detail is evident in items like polished lines, trick dipsticks, polished Chevrolet valve covers and polished bowtie breathers.
MODERN ATHLETICS
Park this classic on a lift and you'll find a sturdy aftermarket chassis that's been dressed to match the car's regal profile! A familiar Mustang II front-clip strings manual rack-and-pinion steering around tubular control arms and modern coils and shocks. A triangulated 4-bar rear-clip stretches more tubular bars in front of polished coil-over-shocks. Behind the small block, a color-keyed Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed funnels torque through a 9-inch rear axle. Stops are provided by a quartet of power-assisted discs. A polished stainless fuel tank provides plenty of motivation. Exhaust rumbles through aluminized pipes and throaty Dynomax Super Turbos. And the car's sinuous fenders frame polished Billet Specialties Legacy wheels.
ULTIMATE VISION
Choice customization continues behind the doors thanks to interior wizard Paul Atkins. A body-matched dash centers a full suite of VDO telemetry between a billet mirror and vents for the car's modern air conditioning. A broad bench seat rides rich carpet behind a polished E-brake and a long Lokar shifter. A tight headliner shades custom side panels, which front power-operated windows. The driver spins a polished and half-wrapped wheel around a tilting column and billet foot pedals. And passengers store essentials in a custom-upholstered trunk.
A lot of street rods claim to be the total package, but this sweet Chevy actually backs that talk up. The stout 350 has surprisingly good manners and, paired with the car's smooth-shifting automatic and plush interior, serves as the basis for one of the most comfortable hot rods we've seen. Buy it for the bowtie… Buy it for the build quality… Whatever you do, just make sure to buy it quickly because quality customs like this don't have a habit of sticking around.
