Cobra Replica 427 V8 1965

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 1965 Cobra  S/C- Superformance 427 If you have spent any time researching Cobras you have undoubtedly come across many different manufacturers out there for bodies and different builders.  While there are many quality companies out there building these cars at the top of the list is Superformance.  They are a Carroll Shelby licensed manufacturer and are known to build some of the closest Cobras to the originals available.  They use high quality components throughout to continue on the factory race car legend that is the Shelby Cobra.  The car you see here is a top of the line build and the final assembly/tuning was professionally completed by Tom's Motorsports out of Las Vegas who has a very good reputation.  The body is in excellent condition and with only 1,730 miles since finished it still has that just completed fresh look and quality.  It is painted in a Viper Steel Gray with Titanium Silver racing stripes which is a very cool color combination.  It has the small chrome bumperettes in front/rear, the large recessed chrome gas cap, and the single roll bar which are features that vary a lot on these Cobras but this one was done like the originals.  It has snaps on the rear around the roll bar which is attachment points for the Full Toneau cover which zips down the middle and a Convertible top with side curtains.  The car rides on Magnesium Knock off wheels and actually comes with a 2nd set of the same wheels.  This would be great for someone looking to take the car to the track because you can have your track day tires readily available.  Getting those wheels spinning is a Roush small block 427R cubic inch motor that runs out very well.  It has a 4.25" bore and a 4.00" stroke and runs great!  The motor has been built using a Dart 4 bolt main (9.5 deck), Hydraulic roller cam & lifters, aluminum heads, 2.08" intake and 1.600" exhaust valves,  a forged 4340 steel crankshaft, forged 4340 steel h beam rods, Wiseco forged pistons with Plasma Molly rings, a Victor Jr intake, Quick Fuel Technology 750Q mechanical secondary carb, and MSD ignition.  When it is all said and done this thing cranks out 540 hp, 535 ft lbs torque, which has no problem getting this 2,390 lbs car zipping down the road.  In addition to performing well the motor looks great too with lots of chrome and Cobra finned valve covers.  Paired with the motor is a Tremec 5 speed transmission that shifts well and transfers power back to the Dana 3.73 limited slip independent rear end.  The brakes are Wilwood discs and stop the car smoothly with no issues.  Under all four corners are Bilstine coilovers to help deliver a nice ride.  You can't mention this Cobra without talking about the sound because with large ceramic coated side pipes the exhaust is music to any hotrodders ears.  It sounds great, looks great, runs great and performs great...there really is no way to improve on this extremely well built car.   The interior of the car is in excellent shape and actually features a pretty unique feature.  Most of the Superformance Cobras were released with all Black interiors but during the run of their 10th anniversary cars some of the vehicles actually received the color match seats.  According to Superformance only 3 slipped through of with these seats and this is 1 of them.  It may be tough to see in certain pictures but the bucket seats are actually a dark Silver with the piping being a lighter Silver.  It has 4 point harness seat belts which keep you safely in place no matter what speed you decide to let this roadster climb to.  The dash of the car is done in Black with Black faced gauges and on the passengers glove box is the man himself, Carroll Shelby's signature.  If you are on the hunt for a nice Cobra then this one is going to be tough to beat.  It is a one owner car that looks like it was just completed and needs nothing.
