Ford Coupe 1932

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Car enthusiasts are an interesting lot. Not only do most of us possess the desire to preserve and create, we're also quite picky. Contrary to popular belief, those traits aren't simply a means to relive the glory days of our youth. Rather, in most cases, they're the well-plotted means to recreate the idealized version of that world. Perhaps nowhere is that more evident than the modern street rodding movement. Many rodders grew up watching fast, 1930s-era Fords flash across their TV screens, and the thought of keen Deuce Coupes simply never left their psyches. Eventually, octane-anointed kids grow into well-established adults, and they set out to build quintessential interpretations of their hot rod dreams. And, as you can see from our latest offering, dreams often come true!
SHADES OF BLUE, SHADES OF GRAY
The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up build that was completed by Maiden, North Carolina's Hot Rod Express, this cool coupe is constructed of quality BeBop's fiberglass that's been carefully prepped and highly polished. That polish comes courtesy of buttery two-stage that, with the help of a glossy layer of clear, looks sometimes blue and sometimes gray. That svelte pigment is centered on a billet Dan Fink grille, which bends a steel Brookville shell behind a polished spreader and a custom headlight bar that's finished with dual-mode lamps. Those torches lead a custom steel hood, which kicks off a clean profile that's finished with traditional door hinges and traditional door handles. Those pulls open a chopped, 5-window greenhouse that's lined in tint and cleared by roof-mount wipers. Those blades shade an electric decklid, which hangs a third traditional handle over a polished fuel cap and a second polished spreader. And that bar protects custom taillight stands that secure '33 Ford lamps at the edges of a custom fiberglass roll pan.
SMALL BLOCK SNAP
In the name of performance and reliability, it's common practice for somewhat traditional street rods to employ souped-up versions of proven powertrains. So, this Ford's builder decided to uncrate a familiar GM Vortec 4800 small block and put all its effortless horses to excellent everyday use! At the front of the cast iron mill, a compact K&N filter funnels wind into a trusty GM throttle body. That oxygen mixes with fossils thanks to GM electronic fuel injection and Street & Performance LS wiring. A quality COMP cam combusts that mixture under ported and polished heads. Those aluminum domes cap compact Sanderson headers, which push through short Packard wires. Charge is provided by a chromed Billet Specialties accessory drive, which spins a chromed alternator opposite a chromed AC compressor. Cooling comes courtesy of a beefy AutoRad radiator that's complete with a polished cap, a polished tube and a large puller fan. And the compact mill rides under a custom, body-matched engine shroud that was tailor made for this coupe's clean, body-matched engine bay.
HAPPILY EVER AFTERMARKET
Behind this Ford's well-planned and professionally executed powerplant you'll find a whole catalogue of custom performance parts that mix great aesthetics with excellent driving dynamics. A solid foundation begins with a fresh Pete & Jakes frame that, purchased new at the time of the car's construction, has been professionally C-notched. Those bones ride a Pete & Jakes triangulated 4-bar rear-clip that's finished with powder-coated links and modern Bilstein coil-overs. That clip pushes powder-coated Pete & Jakes hairpins, which tilt polished Bilstein shocks around a powder-coated Super Bell axle. A hydraulic clutch kicks a tough Tremec T56 6-speed. That aftermarket gearbox spins a polished aluminum driveshaft to a 9-inch Ford axle that's built with an open differential and 3:73 gears. Turns come courtesy of a manual rack-and-pinion. Stops are quick when a trusty Wilwood master cylinder charges two Wilwood calipers and two rear-mount calipers. Polished stainless pipes cage polished, glasspack-style mufflers. At the corners of the car, bright Billet Specialties Fuelies spin 205/40R17 Toyo Proxes 4s in front of 275/40R20 Toyo Proxes 4s. And choice detailing includes chrome-plated bolts, stainless fluid lines and a modern fuel pump.
RETRO CHIC
Between the doors, style is the name of the game as tasteful leather hides create a stylish complement to the car's rich paint. The driver and passenger ride a reclining Glide Engineering bench under modern lap belts. Ahead of that perch, an engine-turned instrument panel centers Classic Instruments All American Tradition telemetry above a custom antique climate control vent. Pleated side panels hang traditional handles in front of modern power windows. A tight headliner parallels premium carpet, which frames muted Lokar pedals, a hidden emergency brake handle and a skillfully relocated shifter. The driver spins a polished and leather-wrapped Pete & Jakes steering wheel around a painted Ididit column. The passengers store loot in a custom-upholstered trunk. Sick beats come courtesy of a remote-controlled Sony CD player and crisp JL Audio speakers. And everything communicates well thanks to Dakota Digital fan control and American Autowire Highway 15 wiring.
Like our best memories, art is both ubiquitous and immortal. This super cool Deuce is a timeless yet modern hot rod that represents the very best of passion, quality and creativity. Call, click or visit http://www.RKMotors.com and grab the wheel of greatness!
