Ford F-100 1955

Allgemeine Beschreibung : With its squared proportions and simple form, the beloved Ford F100 is certainly a standard in the street rod world. And the baseline for notable Effie builds is a solid, lowered body that wraps wet-look paint around a small Ford V8, big wheels and an upscale, custom interior. The question then becomes: what happens when someone takes that standard, meets the baseline and showers both with buckets of money and innovation? You get a national award-winning custom like this mind-blowing pickup! If you're a diehard Ford fan, an old school truck lover, or just a curious buyer who's looking for something that's exceptionally well done, this striking F100 is THE classic to have! THE BIRTH OF A CHAMPION
When this red-hot Ford's builder exchanged $500 of hard earned cash for a well-worn truck, he had every intention of building a nice, reliable cruiser. He proudly hauled his new investment home, recruited the help of his son and a knowledgeable friend, and spent many afternoons and weekends doing just that. It wasn't until the family took the truck to the F-100 Supernationals in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee that things started getting serious. Upon returning to the garage that spawned his newly minted driver, the builder immediately started tearing the truck apart with the goal of building a world-class showpiece. And fifteen years after the truck had been purchased and brought back to life as a 2-lane tarmac tourer, the builder rolled his new creation out at that same F-100 Supernational show and took home its coveted Truck of the Year award.
Since beginning its career as a show queen this clean Effie hasn't seen much road time, so its custom DuPont basecoat/clearcoat finish is virtually flawless. The truck's gold and silver graphics, which were inspired by a vintage drop-top the builder remembered seeing as a kid, are timeless and well-done. Of course, fit and panel alignment is as perfect as such a thing can be. And no, that isn't just the fender's bright red hue reflecting in the door's jet black profile, the truck's paint really does have a subtle red fleck.
Despite taking on the softer attributes of a street rod, this pickup still maintains the rugged good looks of traditional Ford trucks. And, thanks to its builder's carefully planned modifications, it has a distinct charm that'll last for generations. At the front of this awesome Effie, a custom grille centers a traditional 'V8' emblem between modern, tri-bar headlights and billet bumper spears. Above that grille, an intricate Ford emblem leads a forward-tilt hood, which snugs at smoked glass that's trimmed in polished caps and a polished drip rail. At the sides of that hood, broad steel fenders lead the eye to stylish chrome mirrors, traditional chrome door handles and old school aluminum lock cylinder covers. Below those fenders, painted running boards flow towards an electric, tilting bed that's finished with a spotless Lexan floor. And at the back of the truck, 'V8' bed caps center a 'Ford' stamped tailgate over a custom roll pan, another custom bumper spear and custom taillights.
32-VALVE FORD POWER
Unfold the Mid Fifty F-100 hood mechanism and you'll find a 32-valve, dual overhead cam Lincoln InTech V8 that's characterized by miles of smooth thrust. Stout, solid and highly adaptable, these Teksid aluminum blocks have spent the last two decades powering everything from Mustangs and street rods to Aviators and Panoz roadsters. It features a highly polished appearance that, when combined with the truck's bright red engine bay, literally looks like a jewel in a box. At the top of the mirrored engine, a polished aluminum intake snorts oxygen through a custom air tube and mixes it with a steady stream of dino juice that's pumped through polished fuel lines via factory electronic injection. At the sides of that intake, polished cam covers seat Ford branded coil covers next to polished caps and polished breathers. Below those covers, ceramic coated Ford Motorsport headers swirl spent gases into a fully polished, true-dual exhaust system. In front of those tubes, a polished serpentine drive spins a polished alternator and a polished AC compressor in front of a polished timing cover. A polished Griffin radiator rides between polished tanks, stainless tubes, a polished cap and a chrome puller fan. All the truck's wiring and plumbing has been artfully hidden and tucked out of sight. And, aesthetically, the clean engine bay is an impressive piece of street rod art that literally contains no unfinished or un-plated pieces, from its chrome cable looms all the way to its braided Fragola Performance Systems hoses.
NOT A DETAIL MISSED
As nice as this award winning custom's thoroughly updated engine bay is, one look under its fenders will bring true meaning to the phrase 'You ain't seen nothin' yet.' Behind the modern cammer, a polished Ford electronic AOD 4-speed spins a polished aluminum driveshaft, which twists a narrowed and chromed Ford 9-inch that's stuffed with tall, 3.73 gears. That first class drivetrain rolls on a C-notched frame which, along with solid floors, has been bathed in the same glossy basecoat/clearcoat finish as the truck's exterior panels. At the front of that frame, a polished Heidts Superide II suspension centers polished Heidts power rack-and-pinion steering in front of a polished Heidts 4-link rear-clip. Stops are provided by polished Wilwood calipers, which cinch 11.5-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Exhaust exits through polished, 2.5-inch pipes that growl through polished Borla mufflers. At the corners, Billet Specialties Vintec IIs spin 245/40ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 275/35ZR20 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As. And a roster of impressive hardware includes a polished starter, a polished crossmember, polished stainless plumbing and a Tanks Inc. molded polyurethane fuel tank.
CUSTOM AND CLASSY
Inside this re-envisioned F100, a tasteful Ultraleather interior mixes custom style with retro class. Front and center, a billet-trimmed dash hangs bright Auto Meter telemetry above controls for a Vintage Air climate system. A custom bench seat wears a supple red cover that's trimmed in contrasting black piping. A sculpted headliner joins billet-trimmed side panels, which front modern power windows, to frame a tight floor mat that's punctuated by billet foot pedals, color-keyed carpet and MP3-compatible Kenwood audio. And the driver spins a polished and half-wrapped Billet Specialties steering wheel around a polished, tilting column.
