Other Other standard 2 seater Last surviving Gwynne Eight! Unique! 1922

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Trade-in car. this is probably the last chance you will ever have to own a Gwynne Eight “Standard 2-seater”. Our Gwynne Eight left the factory in 1922 and now nearly a hundred years later, she is the only one left. We are as fully certain as possible it is most unlikely there is a second Gwynne in existence. When it was last sold back in 1965 (can you believe it?), there was a rumour of a second Gwynne. To this very day, no further mention or sighting of this car has been reported. This car is not quite nice to see but is also interesting from a mechanical point of view. The Gwynne Eight had a factory-supplied 850 cc 4-cylinder engine with a single overhead cam. The engine delivered 24 Hp with a 3-speed manual gearbox. The last owner has had the car since 1965 when he bought it at a Sotheby & Co. auction. Despite living in Montreal, Canada, the car remained in the UK for nearly the next 10 years before being shipped to Canada in 1974. The crating and shipping papers are at hand. The car has already been restored once in the past and is still quite neat. To enjoy the Gwynne fully however it will need some attention. Of late it is obvious the car has been kept in storage. The interior is somewhat dusty and the engine would benefit from major servicing. Whilst the car has not recently been in use, you can spot that it is dry and has been correctly stored. The fine bodywork is very neat and correctly aligned. The hood is still trim. The leather upholstery on the front seats clearly requires some elbow grease, but it does suit the car’s demeanour. This specific car featured prominently at the 1924 Motor Week. This Gwynne Eight comes with an extensive file of documents. A 1965 road-book with just one stamp indicating just one owner since 1965 as well as older publications relating to the car, including a copy of the sales brochure. The original 1965 sales catalogue is also part of the documentation. Let’s be quite clear; This is the unique opportunity to acquire the very last Gwynne Eight standard 2-seater.
