Austin-Healey 3000 MK2 Body off restored 1962

Allmän beskrivning : ABOUT THIS CLASSICThis stunning 1962 Austin Healey 3000 MK2 4-seater roadster has recently undergone a full body off restoration. So, condition wise there is nothing much to say except for that the car probably looks and performs better then when she came from the assembly line in ’62. The Healey 3000 is one off the most stylish classic roadsters ever produced and offers the best of 2 worlds. These MK 2’s can be used for a relaxed Sunday trip but also have the exceptional road going qualities & serious performance to excite the avid classic rally driver. As already stated, the car was fully restored last year. The body was taken off the frame and stripped to bare metal. After the correct preparation she was refinished in a factory style “ice blue metallic” & “old English white”. A stunning combination together with all the original trim and the by knock off secured 72 spoke chrome finished wire wheels. To finish off the exterior the choice was made to mount a beautiful blue mohair roof and & hood cover. Also, the interior was tastefully redone. The bucket seats were trimmed in a beautiful dark blue leather with white piping combination. Colour coordinated door panels and carpets were placed. The original “Smiths” instrumentation was refurbished and include a 120 MPH speedometer, a 6000 RPM tachometer, oil pressure, coolant temperature and fuel level gauges. The odometer shows the 420 miles that were done for testing purposes. A wood shift knob & classy “Moto-Lita” steering wheel with adjustable column complete the cabin. So, also the taller pilot can drive the car comfortably. The 2912 CC 6 cylinder in-line engine & twin Su HS6 carburettor combination performs to its fullest potential after the complete revision. The same can be said for the four-speed manual transmission & the” Laycock de Normanville” overdrive. The raw sound of the new stainless-steel exhaust will put a smile on anyone’s face. Also, the undercarriage has undergone a full rebuild. The refurbished Axles, coils springs, wishbones etc... provide the correct road going qualities. The powered front disc brakes and drums in the back make sure you have the right stopping power during the more sportive drives.
