Chevrolet C10 327 cubic inch V8 1966

Allmän beskrivning : Very clean example of a desirable final-year C pickup. Great colors, expensive new interior, great-running 327 cubic inch V8 with automatic transmission. Awesome stance, traditional look, lots of fun to drive. A very cool truck ready to enjoy.

If you want attention, this truck will generate it for you. It has an old school look that seems to talk to people young and old and dressing it in bright red with a slightly lowered stance gives it a bit of an attitude as well. The bodywork is excellent and it appears that this truck spent the entirety of its life out of the snow and salt, because it’s super clean and straight. Of course, there was a substantial investment in the final finish, which is Corvette Torch Red, just about the reddest red you can get. All the original trim remains, including the side spear and that cool “winglet” on the back of the cab that’s purely for style points. The bumpers shine up beautifully and the simple grille works rather well with the pickup’s blue collar roots. Out back there’s a nicely finished bed with stained wood planks and a custom louvered tailgate for a ‘60s custom touch. This truck looks right from any angle.

The custom brown interior is brand new and installed at a cost of more than $10,000. The distressed-looking upholstery looks great in the working class pickup, giving it both an upscale and a tough, well-seasoned look. New carpets, a fresh seat cover, and custom door panels make it look polished and complete, not basic, and there’s a tilt steering column with a modern Grant GT steering wheel. The factory gauges remain, and they’re one of the coolest designs ever—a set of dials all under a single plate of glass with auxiliary controls underneath. For entertainment, you get an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit and there’s a vintage-looking aftermarket A/C system that is mostly complete but not currently hooked up. Custom floor mats that match the carpets help keep things tidy and you’ll note even the headliner and sun visors have been upholstered in the same distressed material. Pickup trucks in the 1960s were never this comfortable.

The engine is a 327 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 apparently lifted from a Corvette early in this truck’s life. It’s been rebuilt and has a more aggressive camshaft inside, so it has a definite hot rod idle. There’s an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor up top and a set of long-tube headers to bolster the torque curve a bit, and this truck is a ton of fun to drive. It’s also beautifully dressed with lots of chrome, including the heater box and radiator supports, as well as those finned valve covers that are straight out of the ‘60s. A new aluminum radiator and a dual reservoir master cylinder for the front disc brakes. The transmission is a reliable TH350 3-speed automatic feeding the original rear end, which has what feel like 3.73 gears inside—it’s punchy. In fact, this generation of Chevy pickups was known for its car-like road manners, thanks to an independent front suspension and that coil spring rear suspension. The photos show no issues in the cab corners or floors and the dual exhaust system uses glasspack-style mufflers for an awesome old-school soundtrack. The stance is just right, accentuated by shiny Cragar Super Sport wheels and staggered 235/75/15 front and 275/60/15 rear blackwall radials.
