The '82 Corvettes adopted a Cross-Fire Injection system, to become the first 'fuelie' Vette since 1965. The fuel injection system looks like a cross-ram set-up, giving the engine bay quite an aesthetically pleasing appeal. The Cross-Fire's higher level of sophistication added 10 horsepower. Chevrolet also got rid of the 4-speed manual transmission and went strictly with the 4-speed automatic transmission for the year. This would be the first time since 1954 you could buy a Corvette with an automatic transmission only. The exterior is a specialty color of a silver with a darker marron lower half, giving it a look that is of its own. With mirrored T-tops, this car was a unique factory built beauty.
