This 1970 Chevrolet El Camino has one of the best muscle car styles around, and this one really knows how to flaunt it. With great glossy paint, an awesome total color package, a sporty bucket seat interior, and plenty of big block V8 power, everyone can see that this Chevy can haul (and we're not talking about what goes in the bed.)
The paint provides an instant attraction to this El Camino. Red is always a striking color, but you can tell from the high gloss presentation and the straightness of the panels that there was an investment in quality and care. This was restored in the 1990s, and it came from long-term ownership. That's the kind of story we all want to be able to tell when others compliment on the shine. Plus, there's a well-coordinated and attractive black package that goes with the red. It starts with the premium black vinyl roof. The setup is both vintage and well-done with the correct Delco AM/FM radio and controls for factory air conditioning (will need servicing to blow cold again.) So there are high-back bucket seats with a center console in-between, iconic horseshoe floor shifter, NK4 sports steering wheel, and the tilt column gives you a clear view to the full gauge package with large speedo and tach.
We always love seeing big block power under the hood of these El Caminos. In fact, the paperwork on this one shows that this is an interesting build with a 454 cubic-inch V8 with 427 heads was installed around 2005. This big block looks right at home in the honest engine bay. And there's no mistaking the bright air topper that seals to the cowl induction hood. It feeds fresh air to the four-barrel carburetor for plenty of muscle from this big block setup. And the dual exhaust gives you that sweet big V8 tune. The TH400 three-speed transmission is Chevy's stout unity that's good at both handling all the power as well as providing automatic driving comfort. Add in power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and this El Camino is built for driving.
