Ferrari 512 BB i Classiche certified, Top quality example!!! One of 1984

Allmän beskrivning : The Ferrari 512 BBi is an exceptional car in any version or condition, with only 1,007 built. Taking its current shape, our car is unique. In 2015 we sold this Ferrari 512 BBi to the previous owner. Five years on and 5,000 km further he decided to part exchange the car with ourselves. When we supplied the car to him five years ago it was already in a very good and original condition. Five years later she is in even better shape. In 2015 the car was supplied after fitting a new distribution group. Although he was very happy with his purchase, in 2016 he still saw room for improvement. He took the 512 BBi to Ferrari dealer Erblein in Kassel where it practically underwent a total mechanical overhaul at 32,000 km. Every suspension rubber and engine tube was replaced, the brakes and heater were fully overhauled, it received a new clutch and pressure group, the K-jetronic injection system was re-calibrated, preventatively all gaskets were replaced together with a host of other parts. All in all the bill came to over € 33.000,-.Anecdotally the last owner also suggested completely replacing the exhaust system to improve the car’s looks even more. Erblein however strongly dissuaded him from this course of action as it was not only one of the most authentic 512 BBi’s he had ever seen but, after checking the chassis number also happened to be one of the very last ones produced. Besides hardly any further gain was to be had with a new exhaust system, so the original system was kept. So let us turn to this Ferrari 512 BBi’s authenticity. First of all the car is, of course, fully matching numbers with her original livery. In main the car still has its first coat of “Rosso Corsa” paintwork. The beige leather interior trim is completely original and in very good condition. The car even comes with an extra set of matts in order to preserve the original ones. Following on from this work the time was ripe to start up the Ferrari Classiche certification process. Naturally our 512 BBi sailed through this severe test. The Ferrari Red Book forms part of the extensive documentation. In 2016 the wheels were aslo refurbished, with the Ferrari emblem reapplied. The wheels are as good as new whilst maintaining their authenticity. The bodywork is also completely original with nice and thin, correctly aligned body panels. Underneath this 512 BBi is just as nice and original as on top and naturally totally undamaged and rust-free. In 2019 a slight ball bearing noise was heard. Instead of just replacing the errant bearing, the previous owner decided to replace the whole distribution group together with a number of other preventative part replacements. Erblein again was called in to complete this job to its usual high standard. Total spend? Over € 7.800,-. The documentation accompanying this car is extensive with the Ferrari Red Book, every Erblein Kassel invoice, the original brochures and an USB-stick containing the Ferrari Classiche certification. Den första Ferrari väg bil var de 125 S introducerades 1947 och drivs av en 1,5 L V12 motor, eller hur?
Tja det är inte riktigt så enkelt, Ferrari faktiskt producerar e Tipo 815, 1940 Tipo 815 ritades av ex-Alfa Romeo ingenjörer Alberto Massimino och Vittorio Bellentani och Enrico Nardi enligt Enzo sällskap men juridiska frågor med det tidigare intresse Alfa Romeo hindrade Ferrari från att lansera Ferrari marque vid den punkten.

Enzo fick fram en rad fina väg bilar på 50-talet och 60-talet, men de var bara för att finansiera sin passion racing, väder GT / Sportbil eller Grand Prix. 50-talet såg födelsen av Ferraris mest minnesvärda bilar, 250 GTB (tour de France) 250 Testa Rossa, 250 GT SWB bara för att nämna några.

Under ytspänningen växte dock. I November 1961 erfaren försäljningschef Girolamo Gardini gjorde ett ultimatum till Enzo: om spänningar fortsatte skulle han lämna företaget. Som ett resultat var Gardini avsattes, liksom Scuderia Ferrari manager Romolo Tavoni, överingenjör Carlo Chiti, experimentell sportbil utveckling chief Giotto Bizzarrini, och ett antal andra, som stod vid dem.
Utan Chiti och Bizzarrini utvecklingen av vad som skulle bli den mest kvintessensen Ferrari och idag världens dyraste bil, 250 GTO, var vid en svängpunkt. 250 GTO projekt räddades av en ung ingenjör Mauro Forghieri och lång tid racing bodyman Sergio Scaglietti som klev in och tog över programmet med kända resultat.

Förutom 250 GTO, Ferrari launced sådana mästerverk som 250 LM, 250P, 275 GTB, 365 GTB / 4 "Daytona" under 60-talet
I slutet av 60-talet Ferraris prototyper framgång fick ett abrupt stopp av en ny konkurrent, GT40. Ford vände sig till Lola för att producera en Ferrari slog långdistans racer efter Enzo hade klippt affären av med Henry Ford II gör det senare absolut koka av vrede. Samarbetet mellan Ford och Lola skapade den mäktiga Ford GT40 som gav Ferrari några tunga hits i Le Mans 24 framöver.
I slutet av 60-talet FIAT köpte 50% av bolaget, med start en utveckling som har lett till en ny massproducerade era av Ferraris.
