These Series IIA’s were sent from Land Rover Solihull as CKD (complete knock-down) kits, meaning every component was originally manufactured by Land Rover and simply assembled by Santana in Andalucia, Spain.Together, the partnership and use of CKD kits made it possible for Land Rover to expand their presence globally, establishing their brand as one of the most recognisable in the world. STANDARDHinged front screen, wing-bonnet mounted mirrors, bonnet mounted spare wheel, internal adjustable bulkhead ventilation flaps, sliding front passenger windows, water/temp/fuel gage, speedometer, twin wipers, brake assistanceoptional 4-wheel drive with free-wheeling hubs, indicators. ADDITIONAL:Fitted canvas hood with removable frame, original and galvanised aluminium jerry can with attachment, galvanised fuel cap fitted with padlock, rear socket (for trailers), car adaptor plug socket, rear benches (optional). EXTERIOR:This Series 2 has been finished in a unique Royal Blue colour code #057DCD. Done up in 2018 (engine bay and body), everything was stripped back to bare alloy, resprayed and assembled with new bronze bolts and screws. In 2021, paint was stripped from the windshield frame, both front window and rear quarter panel sills and corner plates, and then galvanised to keep as close to the original build as possible.New bulkhead vents have also been fitted. The spare wheel sits on the original bonnet mounting plate, lined by new aluminium wing panels. All exterior lighting is new with the original and restored Land Rover Santana plaques on the front and back.A new canvas hood with side and rear screens has been fitted along with new and galvanised hood sticks as well as the front bumper being replaced. Besides it’s brand-new front bumper and cross member, everything structural has remained original. Given the vehicles motoring history in a Latin American climate, there are minimal indications of weathering under the vehicle, thus preserving the original Land Rover chassis in an excellent condition. INTERIOR:Newly upholstered, the front seats have been lined with an elephant grey leather accompanied by brand new seatbelts. The dash has also been restored with the speedometer and gages removed, repainted, and refitted. The rear has been fitted with a custom-made Land Rover Santana rubber carpet and benches have been removed to help with storage space, however brand-new benches can be fitted upon request at no additional cost.
