Is this not a thing of beauty? This is a completely restored and mechanically rebuilt 1953 MG TD. It does not only look fantastic, the same counts for the drive it gives. This MG TD has a few surprises in store for you. The MG TD came to the Netherlands from California, USA in 2005. At this time the car clearly needed some attention but was a very sound proposition thanks to the sunny climes it had been kept in. Attention is what she needed and full attention is surely what she got. Following the restoration the final result is nothing less than remarkable; the car is simply brilliant. Starting on the outside, the red paintwork is impeccable and very professionally done. The beautifully restored bodywork has nice and thin, correctly aligned body panels. The windows, brightwork and every rubber moulding are in great shape. The chromed wire wheels complete the external picture in style. For the days when the weather is less clement, the impeccable black mohair hood will protect you in perfectly. The inside of the car is as fine as the outside. The seats have been re-upholstered in new beige PU-leather and the neatly fitted black carpets are new as well. The dashboard is in a wonderful original preserved condition with all instruments in working order. Under the bonnet, all is well too. Better still, during the restoration, a number of upgrades were fitted to the MG TD that not only enhance the pleasure of driving this car but also improved the car’s handling. The engine and gearbox have been fully overhauled and are in splendid health. The improvements are not immediately obvious, but make a big difference to the handling none the less. It now sports MG A brakes, MG A front suspension, an MG A rear axle and transmission, a manual 5-speed gearbox, front stabiliser rod and stainless steel exhaust. The car drives perfectly with losing any of its charm Over and above the technical improvements, this TD benefits from a number of nice accessories such as a badge bar, twin Lucas spotlights, two chromed open air filters and a black tonneau cover. No further clarification is needed, this is a top quality example. This MG TD is ready to be enjoyed.
