Ford De Luxe 350 1940

General description : All Real Steel

Just Toys Classic Cars is proud to present this absolutely stunning and beautiful 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible. This is an all original steel body car. Not a re-popped steel or fiberglass kit. You talk about a car that is getting harder and harder to find, this is it. The fit and finish are absolutely second to none on this beauty. The Mercedes Bordeaux Red paint looks like you could stick your arm in it. The paint is miles deep on this one. You are going to be hard pressed to find a hand full of cars like this, and this nice. If you were to see this car at your local cruise night or car show, you would just have to run over to it and check it out. It is a magnet and just draws you in.
So, now that the car has drawn you in, take a look under the hood to find an exceptionally well appointed 350 with Inglese fuel injection. That's right, no pumping this car to death when it is cold. Get in start it right up and go. You will see that the valve covers and the covers for the air cleaners are painted to match the car. This engine bay has just the right amount of color, and shinny parts. This motor has a mild comp cam in it, MSD Distributor, Aluminum radiator, and the list goes on and on. This car will put that ear to ear grin on your face when you step on the go pedal, that's for sure. This is mated to a turbo 350 transmission, which all exits out to a 3.08 geared Granada 8.8 rear end. This gives you the ability to punch it when you want to, but get some fuel economy if you just want to cruise around town.
Now that you have looked at all the business end of things. Go around and open that passenger door, and slid in to the very plush leather split bench seat and just sink in to its comfort. As you look around you, you are going to see how everything is very well appointed. The autometer gauges are very easy to read. There is even a tach mounted under the left side of the dash so you know everything that is going on with this cool ride. All of your A/C controls are behind what would normally be the radio vent. just lift that grill off from the bottom and voila there are your controls tucked neatly away. Now, this car still looks like it is a 3 on the tree. That is part of the trick custom touches to this sweet convertible. This is an automatic. You just pull the shifter down in to the gear you are looking for and off you go.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
