Chevrolet Chevelle 1972

General description : STRONG RUNNING CHEVELLE W/ A 350 LT-1 V8, AUTO, PS, PB W/ FRT DISC, LOOKS GREAT!

This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle offers a "can't miss" combination. Take the classic good looks that premiered to rave reviews when it first debuted and throw in a host of well-chosen name-brand add-ons to up its game in the performance department and you have one fine ride that's sure to be a blast to drive and draw admiring glances wherever you might roam.
Featuring a relatively level and unelevated stance, this Chevelle looks ready for action. This version was especially prized for its aesthetics when it rolled out, garnering such popularity that it finished as the #2 selling car in the United States, no small feat for a muscle car. The silver exterior is a great color choice and, accented with broad, black stripes across both its scooped hood and trunk, it has just the look you'd likely conjure up in your mind's eye when thinking about this very car sight unseen. Look closer at that cowl-induction hood and you'll see that those stripes are no decals - they're painted on with clean, sharp edges. There were some distinctive design changes to the model just the year before that included a more prominent chrome rear bumper and integrated taillights and that upgrade is well-represented on this specimen, as its bumpers in both the front and back are sporting fresh-looking chrome and the headlight and taillight bezels, as well as the trim throughout, look clean and unmarred.
Inside, the black vinyl interior looks very clean. The bench seats in both front and back have plenty of life ahead of them, looking amply well-padded with no visible sags or wrinkles. The door panels on both sides look fresh as well, sitting flush against their surrounding metal. Just in front of the custom steering wheel bearing distinctive "SS" lettering, a set of Dakota gauges sit inside the stock bezel, monitoring their functions through crystal-clear lenses. Front and center in the dash sits an AM/FM stereo with iPod compatibility, looking very era-appropriate with a signature Chevy bowtie on its face and powering a set of Sony speakers skillfully mounted into the rear deck. Directly above it, you'll notice that the dash pad, often the first sign of wear on a classic, is nice and straight and bears no cracks on its surface. In the back, the trunk compartment looks well maintained, a full-sized spare with all of its tread showing occupying its proper position on liner below it.
A 350 LT-1 V8 sits in a clean, flat black engine compartment in place of the smaller 8 cylinder this Chevelle started out with. It's decked out with a whole host of upgrades, like a Holley 4-barrel carb, Edelbrock intake, billet pulleys and an aftermarket cam. It starts right up and has got a nice lope to it – not so drastic as to be annoying, but just enough to serve proper notice that there's not just a run of the mill powerplant under the hood. Providing all the power you'd want, the 350 exhales out into a set of long tube headers and dual exhaust. Up front, there's an aluminum radiator that's combined with an electric fan to keep temperatures down in less forgiving driving conditions. It's bolted to a 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts nice and firm. Outfitted for inspired cruising, with power steering and power brakes (discs in front), stopping power and easy maneuverability are already factored into the mix. This Chevelle sits on a set of 15" U.S. mags that are carrying Cooper Cobra radials.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
