Chevrolet Other 2003

General description : Tony Stewart NASCAR Racecar Coke Cola Livery.
Here is your chance to own a piece of NASCAR racing history now available at RK Motors of Charlotte, NC.
Tony Stewart, NASCAR Hall Of Fame Member and known by his nickname 'Smoke', moved from being a NASCAR CUP Series driver to being a driver and NASCAR Cup Series team owner.
As a driver and team owner, Smoke went on to win the Pocono 500 on June 7, 2009, with this car. That was his first points paying race win as a car owner.
The car started out as a 2007 Hendrick Motorsports Gen 5 COT (Car Of Tomorrow), but with the introduction of the Gen 6 car, the body was updated, and the car continued to be used for testing.
Purchased directly from Stewart-Haas by Rhine Enterprises of Denver, NC the racecar had a full check over before being sold to the current owner who completed the car that you see here today.
The wrap that is now on the car is Tony Stewart's 2016 Darlington Throwback colors (Coca-Cola). Throwback weekend at Darlington, The Track To Tough To Tame, has become known for the great paint schemes of NASCAR's past.
Under the current owner's guidance, the racecar has been meticulously maintained by Bill Rhine of Rhine Enterprises which is a full-service specialty fabrication and restoration shop that focuses on bringing vintage racecars back to glory!
Last run April 2023, in a non-competitive track day at Carolina Motorsports Park. Having been relegated to show duty, the car was recently displayed at the 2023 NASCAR All Star Race @ North Wilkesboro Speedway and at the 2023 Chattanooga TN Car Show.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
