Ford De Luxe 1948

General description : VERY NICE, BIG 460 V8, C6 AUTO, A/C, FORD 9", FRONT DISCS, UPGRADED INTERIOR, A+

Fat-fendered Fords like this 1948 Ford Business Coupe make for some great hot rods. With room for a potent V8 under the hood, lots of creature comforts inside, and an aggressive stance that stands out in a crowd, this cool coupe is a street rod that is polished enough to be a daily driver.
You get to choose your own adventure with this fast Ford. It comes with two sets of wheels that give it two very distinct personalities. The steelies with original hubcaps, and the pristine chrome grille make this business coupe look like an old-school moonshine runner. You also get a set of bold American Racing alloys that transform this incognito personality into a more modern looking machine. The shine of the wheels highlights the deep luster of the dark blue paint. And the bright side trim does a great job of highlighting the curvaceous body. No matter which way you choose to leave the house, this Ford plays its part correctly because the solid body and uniform gaps make everyone envious.
When this custom was built a decade ago they spared no expense on the interior (we even have the restoration receipts to prove it!) The sourcing for the black leather seats stayed within the Ford family by borrowing the front buckets from the last generation Thunderbird. With modern bolstering, even for your legs, these are long haul comfortable. Custom interior panels, provisions for a kickin' stereo, and ice-cold air conditioning will keep everyone happy, but this is truly a driver's coupe. You know it from the moment you grab the three-spoke Lecarra sports steering wheel. Plus, once you see the full VDO gauges with large center-mounted AutoMeter tach, you know there's something special under the hood for you.
It's always nice to see a performance-built FoMoCo motor under the hood of a build like this. That's a huge Mercury 460 cubic-inch V8 you see filling the engine bay. It was rebuilt with performance goodies such as a bored .030 kit, mild cam, new pistons, new valves, custom performance radiator, and a Carter 625 CFM four-barrel carburetor. We can go over the full list of upgrades if you give us a call, but you already get the picture that this one is reliably putting down some serious power. Making sure this gets to the ground is a heavy-duty C6 three-speed automatic that feeds a Ford 9-inch rear end running a versatile 3.25 ratio. But this custom build didn't just stop at the drivetrain. Take a look at the undercarriage photos, and you'll see this one looking clean and pristine in its painted blue. And in keeping with true hot rod style, the chassis has Pete & Jakes ends with a front I-beam suspension and a new rear kit that includes lower shocks and sway bar. There's even a front disc brake setup to keep you in control on the road.
So yes, this is one of those ultra custom builds where the huge investment went way beyond just looking amazing. It's the one you want to drive everyday, and with this kind of craftsmanship and features, you can! Call today!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
