Ford Mustang 302 V8 1970

General description : SLICK FASTBACK, BUILT 302 V8, LONGTUBES/DUALS, FRESH AOD TRANS, UPGRADED SUSP.!!

This 1970 Mustang sportsroof is proof that you don't need to spend a fortune to own a cool Mustang. With a snappy 302 under the hood, a great color combination, and a few Mach 1 touches, it has the look everyone is paying big money to own, all for a bargain price.
If everyone made a list of the top 10 best-looking muscle cars of all time, the 1970 Ford Mustang fastback would probably be on a majority of those lists. This is one great-looking car. Finished in Medium Blue Metallic with black stripes, it's a classic look that worked on cars like the Boss 302 and Mach 1, and it works equally well here. A custom hood scoop, chin spoiler, and a decklid wing all make this car look seriously fast, and the paint job ties it all together quite nicely. This isn't some patched-together car, it's a solid, clean southern Mustang with straight sheetmetal, all refinished by guys who made sure it looked right. Sure, it's got a few signs of use, a few nicks here and there, but none of it is visible from behind the wheel or on the roll. You'll also dig the blacked-out grille and honeycomb tail panel, period details that work extremely well here.
The blue interior is almost entirely new, starting with fresh seat covers and new foam on the original buckets to make the all-day comfortable. The carpets are in great shape with only light wear, the door panels still fit tightly, and the dash pad looks great. The center console houses a familiar T-handle shifter, which now manages an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission, and there's a new AM/FM stereo that powers speakers throughout the interior. The original gauges have been replaced by a set of cool Dakota Digital dials that work rather well with the new blue LED lighting under the dash. The trunk is nicely finished with a correct mat set, which also includes a cover for the spare tire.
Ford's 302 cubic inch V8 has to be one of the best engines of the past few decades. Light, torquey, and virtually bulletproof, it can be built to build big power in a compact package, just as it has been in this car. With a Comp Cams camshaft, valves, and springs inside, an Edelbrock intake with a Holley double-pumper on top, and long-tube headers, it has the right parts to make horsepower. Externally, it looks great with Ford Blue paint, shiny aluminum valve covers, and practical details like a big radiator up front. Monte Carlo bars strengthen the front suspension, and the lowered stance definitely helps improve handling. The 4-speed automatic transmission is linked to a 9-inch rear, and the suspension was fully rebuilt with new front control arms, KYB shocks, subframe connectors, and fresh polyurethane bushings. Flowmaster mufflers sound fantastic, with a snarl that will make the hair on your neck stand up, and those trick 17-inch Magnum 500 wheels carry 245/45/17s up front and 255/45/17 Nitto radials out back.
If you like the bad boy Mustang look, this is a fantastic way to get it without spending a fortune. Call now!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
