Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to offer this surprising 1940 Ford pickup truck for sale. This bad boy seems to be hiding everything, based on its deliberately "rough" exterior...but more in that later. This truck is truly a timeless classic with a modern twist. Its orange exterior was left in unrestored condition to maintain a very unassuming appearance, so that it could be driven and parked anywhere in whatever parking lot wherever you go. However, underneath that body is where the magic is. In the engine bay, you'll find a powerful 6.0L LS-derivative V8 engine, which is backed by a smooth and reliable 4L65E 4-Speed automatic transmission, offering an impressive performance that's sure to turn heads. That potent drivetrain sits between the frame rails of a full custom frame that was built just for this truck. It is powder coated black to provide a nice contrast with the orange exterior, as well as increased corrosion resistance. In addition, the design was intended to feature a full Air Ride suspension setup, which enables it to sit slammed to the pavement when it's parked or set to whatever ride height and stance the driver wants (within the limits of the bags, of course). Tubular front control arms reduce weight and improve handling, and the rear trailing arm setup is equipped with Heim joints and urethane bushings. A Hydroboost-assisted Wilwood 4-wheel disc brake system brings this beast to sure, fade-free stops. Inside, this pre-war Ford pickup boasts a custom synthetic leather trimmed cloth interior, providing a comfortable and stylish ride. The custom center console provides a nicely integrated look, and houses the Lokar shifter, Air Ride gauge and pump switches. Occupants will appreciate that this bad boy is also equipped with a Vintage Air air conditioning system, ensuring your comfort in all weather conditions. For those who appreciate modern conveniences, this car also features a Bluetooth sound system, allowing you to enjoy your favorite music seamlessly from your device. Driving this unassuming-appearing pre-war Ford is a breeze, thanks to the power steering and a tilt steering wheel, which offers adjustable comfort for drivers of all heights. For your safety, the car is fitted with seatbelts and rides on radial tires for optimal road grip and stability. If you're looking for something that looks old but "drives new", this truck is a great choice - you won't need to worry about anyone marring your paint in the lot at the grocery store, nor will it attract thieves (kinda the entire intent behind leaving the body the way it is). However, when you park it in its "show place" at car shows, all you'll need to do is open the hood and drop the body to the ground...you'll get plenty of admiring looks and probably take home a trophy or two. In summary, this "sleeper custom" orange 1940 Ford pickup is a remarkable blend of classic style and modern features. It offers a unique driving experience that's both comfortable and enjoyable, making it a great choice for anyone seeking a classic car with a modern twist.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
