Rolls-Royce 20/25 Hooper Sports Saloon 1936

General description :  Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1936 Rolls Royce 20/25 Hooper Sports Saloon For Sale.
 This charming example car was previously owned by an old man in the Midlands and over several years he rebuilt it.
It is a Hooper bodied car which he bought as just a chassis and located the body after a long chase in France. He reunited the body and chassis after a tremendous amount of work which included the following;
 new wings and running boards made by an old craftsman of high quality alloy
new woodwork (ash frame in the rear of the car).
reset springs,
stainless steel silencer
rebuilt engine and gearbox=engine is very quiet with good pressure and runs cool
new leather uphoulstory
new french polished woodwork,
recored radiator,
rechroming and repaint,
new wiring
brakes relined
 
Since aquiring the car the current owner had a problem in that the brakes locked on.
Ben Smith the expert in Devon came down and trailored the car back to his workshop and identified the source of the problem as a worn thrust bearing in the back axle.
This was repaired with a new bearing, some work on the servo and 4 new michelin tyres as Ben thought that although they had plenty of tread they were old. The work cost in excess of £4000.

Our story begins at the turn of the 20th century when two visionaries, Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, decided to join forces. In 1904, the very first Rolls-Royce was born, the Rolls-Royce 10 hp. It was a modest start for a company that would go on to redefine automotive excellence.

But if we're talking about the epitome of Rolls-Royce luxury, it's the Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, which graced us with its presence from 1968 to 1991. This was a car that made the statement that "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it." Customization was the name of the game, and the Phantom VI was a canvas for the world's wealthiest to express their unique tastes.

Now, it's impossible to discuss Rolls-Royce without mentioning the Rolls-Royce Corniche. Produced from 1971 to 1995, it was a convertible and coupe version of the Silver Shadow. The Corniche was the quintessential grand tourer, a car for those who wished to traverse continents in absolute luxury.
