Bentley 4.25 Litre Derby 3.5 1935

General description : 1935 Bentley Derby 3.5 Litre Park Ward Drophead Coupe  This is a 1935 Bentley Derby 3.5 liter model, chassis number B151FC, with the original Park Ward Drophead Coupe body work, first registered CYX613 and delivered in late 1936. It is in a striking two-tone paint finish that is now quite old but serviceable, the structure of the bodywork is good with the doors closing well. The upholstery and wood are in good condition but the interior does need carpeting to finish it properly. All the instruments are there, the top is older but quite usable and can be raised and lowered manually. With its original engine, it is driving well with no apparent overheating. It would make a good driver and although nothing in particular appears to need attention, it would be worth a full service as few miles have been put on the car in the last ten or so years. A popular choice for touring. Chassis no. B151FC  Price: $117,500

1935 Bentley 4.25 Litre Derby 3.5 is listed for sale on ClassicDigest in New York by Gullwing Motor Cars for $117500.

About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
