Bristol 411 1970

General description : The splendid Bristol 411 was hand built by Bristol Cars from 1969 to 1976. It was the fifth series of Chrysler-V8 engine Bristol models.
With the 411, Bristol, for the first time since the 407 was introduced, made a change of engine. Although they were still using a Chrysler V8 engine, the old 'A' type engine was gone. Replacing it was the much larger big-block B series engine of 6,277 cc (383.0 cubic inches) - as compared to the 5,211 cc of the 410. This much larger engine gave the 411 an estimated 30 percent more power than had been found in the 410. The 411 was capable of 230 km/h (143 mph). To cope with this extra power, a limited slip differential was fitted so that the car handled much better at high speeds.
Our 411 has just received a top quality bare metal repaint in its original Raven Black now enhanced with a contrasting Tudor Grey roof. The car has been upgraded with the later, more economical Chrysler V8 and later type air conditioning bringing the vehicle up to virtually Series 6 specification. Recently refurbished with new carpets, re-lacquered wood veneers, new cloth headlining and a new rear windscreen together with new rubber seals. There are various bills on file detailing the numerous works carried out.
Offered here is a marvellous Bristol 411 that has been extremely well maintained by its former keepers and is in stunning condition. This 411 is a joy to drive and is exceptionally powerful and we welcome serious enquiries to view this wonderful car at our Kew showroom.

About Bristol
Bristol Cars Ltd is the last remaining division of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, a major aircraft manufacturer. In 1945 they took over Fraser Nash that had their "Fraser Nash B.M.W." concept figured out. This suited well for Bristol's ambitions to manufacture a high quality sports car.
With the support of the War Reparations Board, they purchased the rights to manufacture three BMW models and the 328 engine from BMW.
However, in 1947 Frazer Nash was resold and both makes became independent entities.

Hand-built Bristols are highly original and quintessentially British Cars, in spite of their BMW derived technology, that combine element of aero-industry with small scale car manufacturing.
