Chevrolet C1500 1988

General description : Description
Want a Pro Street truck that's been built for pink-slip combat, yet never been to the race track? How about one that could take a trophy home just on looks alone? Well, if you're looking for a slick custom truck with an attractive paint job, huge V8 power, and a great stance, perhaps this 1988 Chevrolet C/K1500 Pro Street pickup would fit the bill. Very well built by the pros and full of custom tricks, this is a great way to have some hot-rod fun without the hassle of building your own.
Build a truck this nice and you're going to stand out in a crowd regardless of the venue. Fortunately, the work is tasteful and well-executed, using many of the tried-and-true custom tricks that make these trucks among the most popular with street truck enthusiasts. Black paint is always a crowd favorite, but to really execute a high-end finish it requires the laser-straight bodywork found on this Chevy. Further punctuated by hand-painted red pinstripes and a custom "Real Men Wear Bowties" tailgate, this top driver quality rig is as much a looker as it is a strong runner. A custom front bumper with billet grilles and integrated LEDs, a cowl induction hood, custom LED headlights and taillights, and a smooth rear roll pan all give the once-common pickup an uncommon and very attractive look. A blacked-out stock grille adds to the tough monochromatic theme, and with that lowered and aggressively raked stance and huge tubbed wheels out back, nobody will mistake this for a parts hauler. Even with the tubs and a relocated fuel cell there's still plenty of space left over in the bed, and it'll carry just about anything you can throw at it thanks to a spray-in bedliner protecting the floor and sidewalls.
The builders completed a makeover on the interior as well, which was already one of Chevy's better work spaces. There's a new roll cage and fresh racing buckets with shoulder harness seatbelts that replace the original maroon seats inside, and while it's definitely a custom look, it's not so over-the-top that you won't want to drive it every day. A big center console with lots of storage and cup holders make this truck feel more like a luxury cruiser and it's loaded with goodies like A/C, cruise control, power windows and locks, a tilt steering column, and even the original AM/FM radio that still works! The gauge panel remains completely stock with an aluminum applique to change the look a bit, and a big SunPro tachometer and a trio of auxiliary dials help keep a better eye on the monster under the hood. More of that aluminum applique can be found on the dash and door panels for a cool look, while the leather-wrapped billet steering wheel really sets the tone inside. To be honest, the overall workmanship combined with the original preservation throughout the years in this truck is quite impressive, particularly the dash and door panels, which is a hallmark of all great customs. Original carpets line the floorboard and there's even a big sliding window out back for added ventilation.
To keep it reliable while still matching the Pro Street look, a fully built 454 cubic inch V8 big block reported to be 500HP rated went into the engine bay about 1k miles ago, and it's topped by an iPad-controlled EFI system so it starts and runs just like the factory intended. Aside from an Edelbrock air cleaner and some flashy Chevrolet valve covers, it's not an over-the-top presentation and everything is extremely clean. There are newer parts throughout, including the A/C system, aluminum radiator and dual cooling fans (which are controlled by the ECU), fuel pump, and even the fuel cell in the bed. It's backed by a recently rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission augmented with a shift kit, 2800 stall convertor, and trans cooler, and it spins a built Ford 9-inch rear end filled 32 spline axles and 4.11 gears to handle all the added power. A recently rebuilt front end and tub set-up set the monstrous stance, while the earth-shattering soundtrack is thanks to long-tube headers that feed into custom dual exhaust with cut-outs. Power front disc brakes help it stop on a dime and power steering mean it tracks right, and the Chevy sits on staggered Weld Racing wheels with 215/70/15 radials up front and huge 33x22x15 Mickey Thompson meats out back.
This slick Chevy uses all the tricks to make a big impact, but none of them detract from its user-friendly nature. If you'd like a practical hauler you can drive every day but will still attract attention and trophies, this is an awesome choice. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
