Ford Galaxie 427 V8 1963

General description : 1963 Ford 300 R Code 427 Dual Quad Four Speed 4.11 Rear End Factory Red on Red
Here we have a 1963 Ford 300 R Code. This is a very rare opportunity to own a piece of muscle car history. There were only 50 of these cars ever built and this one is mostly a survivor that has had a repaint done. It's 1 of only 5 High Performance 300's in the 427 Registry and 1 of only 3 R codes in the registry. We were told this car was original bought by Warner Ford in Loveland Ohio and raced during '63 and '64. The body on it is rock solid and you can tell it has been extremely well cared for over the years. It's straight down the sides and all the body lines flow beautifully from front to rear. As we mentioned it has had a repaint, but it was redone in the Rangoon Red which is the factory option for it. It has been buffed and polished to a gorgeous shine that as you can see is slick as a ribbon. This Ford has the factory glass which is all in phenomenal condition. It also has a lot of its original emblems and stainless which looks amazing as well. Looking at the bumpers you can see they also have a brilliant shine. To finish off the look it's sitting on the factory style 15” Wheels that are painted body color with Firestone Tires and Correct '63 Ford Dogdish Hubcaps.
Next, we will look at the interior of this R Code. On the inside it looks to be mostly all original and in amazing condition. This car is done in Red and White on the inside which is a beautiful compliment to the Rangoon Red Exterior. As you can see it has the bench seats with what looks to be the factory covers that are in phenomenal condition for their age. The door panels are also in great condition along with the Black Vinyl Floor. This '63 has the White Headliner with the white visors that all look amazing with the headliner having an excellent fit. Looking at the dash you can see that it all looks stock with the factory gauges working as they should with 1084 miles on the odometer. The factory steering wheel has been well cared for and of course it has the Four Speed Shifter in the floor! In the trunk everything looks solid and it has the liners and trunk mat along with the factory jack.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Ford. Under the hood it's powered by the 427 R Code engine that looks just like it would have when new from the factory. It's set up with the C3AE 9425 H Dual Quad 427 Aluminum Intake with the Holley Four Barrel Carbs. Also it has the correct C3AE 6090 D Heads along with having the correct exhaust manifolds. This car also has the correct Air Cleaner and everything under the hood has a correct feel that will take you right back to when these cars were terrorizing your friends at the drag strip. When you look under it you will notice that all the floors and frame look rock solid. Also, you can see that it's had new exhaust installed that was done back to the stock style. Don't miss out on a rare opportunity to own one of the fast stock muscle cars to ever hit the market!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
