AC verkade större allmänheten med AC Ace, en lätt roadster designad av John Tojeiro med en Weller-designade 2-liters motor. Strax efter, monterade bilhandlare och racerförare Ken Rudd sin egen konkurrens Ace med en pre-war BMW-designade, Bristol-producerade sexcylindrig motor. Denna kombination blev känt AC Ace-Bristol 1957 -den bilen tävlade på Le Mans 1957 och 1958.
