Allmän beskrivning : This beautiful and beastly 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is for sale in our Indianapolis showroom of Gateway Classic Cars. We all have that dream car we want, right? A ’55 Chevy is definitely one of the dream cars. Heck who didn’t build a model of one of these as a kid? As a sixteen-year-old, I even had a chance to buy one, but the $1500 price was too steep for my blood. If I only knew then what I know now! This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air still sports the classic body lines that has made it the American Icon that it is. However, from there this Bel Air goes in a whole other direction. This Bel Air is what we like to call a Resto-Mod. From the outside, it still has the classic look that has made it so popular over the years. Under that classic metal, lies a modern drive train and suspension. Amenities such as rack and pinion power steering, disc brakes, Hotchkis sway bars, tubular control arms give this shoebox a more modern as well as comfortable ride. Comfort is upgraded with Air Conditioning, leather interior, power window. A Dakota digital dash takes care of monitoring all critical engine functions. Intermittent wipers are a nice touch, even though this beautiful will hardly ever see a drop of rain. Under the hood is the best part! A fresh LQ9 6.0 liter engine is mated to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission. The power is then sent to a rock-solid Ford 9 inch rear end loaded with 3.25 gears. The Bel Air is still very fresh with only 13377 miles on it since the completion of the build.
