Not surprisingly, this Chevy's classy pigment creates a fabulous foundation for a select array of mirrored bolt-ons. At the front of the car, a polished bumper traces a requisite Bel Air grille, which centers a colorful badge and clear parking lamps under hooded headlights and gold Bel Air header branding. At the top of those emblems, handsome Speer Bullet Spoons lead tinted and stainless-trimmed glass that's reflected in polished mirrors and cleared by polished wipers. At the base of that glass, a silky, Bel Air-branded profile hangs traditional door handles above expressive Speed Spears and subtle rocker shields. And at the back of that profile, a second polished bumper floats two polished guards beneath ornate trunk brandings and stylish taillights.
STILL SMALL BLOCK POWER
Serving as primary motivation for an entire roster of General Motors' latest and greatest performance cars, this classic's proven LS V8 utilizes a hearty six liters of displacement to turn easy horsepower into years of reliable torque! At the top of that cast iron mill, a K&N tube swirls cool air between a billet throttle body and remote K&N filter cone. That valve fronts a fabricated intake that's juiced by electronic fuel injection. That fuel progresses through muted rails and a liquid-filled Aeromotive pressure gauge to aluminum 862 heads, which tuck nicely under Pertronix FlameThrower coils and fabricated valve covers. Spent gases exit through short stainless headers. A serious Performance Rod and Custom radiator fronts a custom support and quick-spinning SPAL puller fans. A billet serpentine drive spins modern air conditioning above modern power steering. And items like a Wilwood master cylinder, a Wilwood proportioning valve and a billet oil cap convey a sense of top-notch detailing.
BETTER ALL AROUND
Bottom-side, the spry small block funnels power through a proven 4L60E 4-speed to a retrofitted 10-bolt axle. That drivetrain rides a 4-link rear-clip, which follows a web of tubular bars with adjustable coil-over-shocks. Up front, a Scott's Hotrods front-clip strings Aldan coil-over-shocks between tubular control arms. That modernized suspension is stopped by a quartet of Wilwood calipers, which squeeze a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Stainless exhaust centers throaty MagnaFlow mufflers in front of polished stainless tips. All that mechanical goodness rolls on familiar Billet Specialties Speedways, which spin 225/45ZR18 Kumho Solus in front of 255/45ZR20 Kumho Ecstas. And naturally, this Bel Air's solid floors are coated in tough Red Oxide Primer.
CUSTOM IS KING
Pop the doors and you'll find a choice custom interior that's both stylish and purposeful. Modern bucket seats wrap supple TMI hides around big bolsters and reclining frames. Opposite that Black Houndstooth sheen, a painted dash bends textured stainless around Vintage Air conditioning, Custom Autosound audio and clean Dakota Digital telemetry. A custom console floats subtle cupholders on premium carpet, which flows past billet foot pedals to artistic custom side panels. The driver spins a Flaming River Waterfall Wheel around a tilting column. And the passengers store essentials in a custom-upholstered trunk.
