The Corvette received its first major body redesign in 1956. With exception of the instrument panel which nearly identical, the 1956 was visually completely different from the preceding model. The new design featured roll up windows with power assist optional . external door handles and locks , exposed headlights with chrome surround bezels (expect very early productions which were painted ) and sculptured side cove which permitted the Corvettes first two tone paint combinations. The body was repainted about 10 years ago and maintained very well throughout the years. Walking around this car you will see it really takes you back to 1956 . Moving on to the power behind this historical beast is the original 265 cubic inch 225 hp engine with twin 4 barrel carbs. To enjoy the nice summer breeze down the highway just shift your way through the 4-Speed manual transmission that came out of 56 Vette and features 12 bolt rear end with 3:27 gears. This car will really get up and go. The red vinyl interior is in excellent condition & has that original classic styling to it. The red interior keeps the flow of the car going from the outside to the inside. Sitting behind the wheel of this head turner you will see a nice clean gauge cluster, but you will be focused on the many cruising miles ahead. Some additional features include AM Radio, Manual Convertible Top, Hub Caps, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, Seatbelts, White Wall Tires.
