Here we have a 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe for sale. The SS optioned Monte Carlos for the 83-87 years are quickly becoming some of the most desirable bow ties in the classic car market. Chevrolet optioned these Super Sport Monte's with the Aero Coupe option during the 86 and 87 years. For the '87 model the production figures were just over 6K units made. The one we have for you has 63K original miles on it and is a stunning example of a well-cared for classic. The body on it is laser straight down the sides and all the body lines flow near perfectly across every panel. It's showcased by the Silver Metallic Paint that has been redone in base coat clear coat and is also the factory color option. Countless hours were spent laying it out and polishing it to the mirror finish that you see today. It's accented by the Gray SS stripes and decals. All the side glass and back glass is original flo lite glass with only the windshield showing to have been replaced. We can see that all the seals look amazing along with all the weather stripping. Up front, the bumper and grill are both in excellent condition, and out back the rear bumper is equally impressive along with the taillights and spoiler. To finish off the look it's sitting on the 15” American Racing wheels with 225/75 Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this Monte Carlo. On the inside it looks to be mostly original and is extremely well cared for. It has the gray cloth interior that all looks beautiful and flows perfectly with the exterior color combo. All the door panels are in great condition with only a slight bit of wear showing from over the years. It does come with the Power Windows and Power Door Locks that are working. This SS features the cloth and vinyl seats with buckets up front along with the console that houses the automatic shifter. Looking at the dash we can see it's in very nice condition with some small cracks and has the dash cover to prevent long term damage. All the gauges are beautiful in it and working as they should. It has the factory SS steering wheel that has the tilt option. The carpet and headliner are also both very nice and well cared for. Inside the trunk is all solid and it still has the factory SPID sticker. It's detailed out with the spare and carpet.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevrolet. Under the hood it's powered by the original matching numbers 5.0L V8 Engine that's set up with the correct intake and four-barrel carb. It's dressed like it would have been from the factory with the factory air cleaner and the black valve covers. This Monte Carlo SS came factory equipped with AC that is working along with Power Steering and Power Brakes with Disc on the Front. The 5.0L engine runs through the TH2004R Transmission and the Stock Rear End with 3.73 Gears. For exhaust it has manifolds with dual exiting rear pipes. Underneath this SS is all rock solid and shows not signs of abuse as the floors and frame are all rock solid. All the suspension is in great condition and its shows on the highway. It handles with ease and stops true. The engine performs excellent and shifts through the gears without issue. Don't miss out on the quality classic that's ready to cruise!
