The well-appreciated and premium feelings continue inside. The dark charcoal presentation is believed to be highly original, and low mileage means little wear. The comfy velour bench seat, carpeting, door panels, dash, and all other fundaments continue to have the look and feel of quality. It's quite easy to get comfortable in a truck like this because the full dash panel wraps around you and there's even a tilt steering column. The upper-end Silverados came with nice factory options like power windows and power locks. Plus, the stereo has been upgraded to a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with Bluetooth. And the factory air conditioning is now blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant.
Open the hood to see the original numbers-matching 5.7-liter V8. This is from the era of fuel injection, so it makes for quite a nice package (especially with the clean presentation and added headers.) When you run out of roads, the powerful V8 feeds Chevy's tough 4x4 drivetrain. The two-speed transfer case, auto locking hubs, and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As can readily get you out of most trouble. Besides off-road, this has all-around driving appeal. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission has highway-friendly overdrive. And this one really makes it easy to for the long haul with options like cruise control and dual fuel tanks. Add in power steering and power brakes with front discs, and this is a great any time driver.
