One of 1,831 models sold in the US in 1973 Balanced and blueprinted Russ Fulp engine rebuild - Ford Cleveland 351 CID V-8 engine bored and stroked to 383 CID with the following parts between 2006 and 2010: SCAT crank and rods; Isky Racing Cam #431360, lifters and pushrods Federal Mogul mains; Clevite rod bushings Comp Cams pro-magnum rockers Edelbrock Performer RPM heads; Edelbrock RPM Airgap dual plane intake manifold #7564 PROBE pistons; ARP Bolts; Billet timing chain Oil restrictors, 10-qt. oil pan Lifter valley and front cover area coated with Glyptol Crank, rods, pistons, flywheel pressure plate and dampener balanced by West Coast Balance Shop, Santa Ana, CA Quick Fuel 750 cfm custom-build carburetor from Bowling Green, KY 180 Headers MSD ignition, coil and wires; 100-amp alternator; AAA battery TMR Inc. stainless fuel, in-line fuel filter and pressure gauge from Orange, CA Fluidyne hi-po radiator with dual sucker fans Stainless cooling pipes; aluminum water tanks Entire rotating assembly balanced Linex engine bay coating; clean to work on, durable, scratch-resistant and looks appealing Rebuilt ZF five-speed manual transmission and new clutch Corvette-based brake system with power assist Stainless transmission breather tube, fuel tank cover, firewall and brake lines Fuel tank sandblasted and coated inside and out; new fuel tank sender Rebuilt rack-and-pinion steering Spicer axles Dunlop 225/45 front tires and Pirelli 335/35 rear tires on 8" and 10" Campy wheels Reupholstered seats, headliner and inner door panels Removable MOMO steering wheel; 17x8 Campagnolo wheels in front, 17x10 in back Power vented disc brakes and power windows Chrome-wrapped Veglia instrumentation Binder of engine rebuild receipts, photos taken in 2005 and Pantera technical information published in September 1973This qualifies as one of the nicest DeTomaso Panteras we have had come through Mot Xotica Classic Cars. Built in July 1973 at DeTomasos Modena, Italy factory, this Ghia was with a prior southern California owner who provided 11 years of loving care for it! This is a very strong running Pantera with a stout high performance motor that is sure to put a smile on your face!Finished in a repaint of the cars original seldom-seen orange exterior, the paint and trim are in overall great condition, with some minor imperfections. There are some minor chips and slight cracks around the deck lid. There are blemishes on the roof, fenders and at the nose and tail.The cars windows are clear and intact, as are its lights. The engine bay is extremely tidy, the battery appears newer, the cargo area is clean and the new-for-1973 black bumpers fit well to the body. In addition, the engine bay is coated in Linex, which is clean to work on, durable, scratch-resistant and it looks great. The bodywork is solid and straight however, the car lacks windshield wipers, and the E-Brake has been disconnected. The heater has been bypassed.This Pantera rolls on Dunlop SP Sport 3000 tires, size 225/45ZR16 in front and Pirelli P Zeros, size 335/35ZR17 in back. Each tire is wrapped around Campagnolo wheels, 17x8 in front and rarely seen & highly sought after 17x10 in rear. The Campys are in very good order while the tires are in satisfactory shape.Between 2006 and 2010, the previous owner rebuilt the original Cleveland 351 CID V-8 engine then bored and stroked it to 383 CID and modified it. The motor is buttoned to a rebuilt ZF five-speed manual transmission and a new clutch. The entire rotating assembly was balanced, too. See above for the powertrain details and other enhancements done to the car. Driver convenience features include power vented disc brakes and power windows.Inside, the previous owner had the black seats, headliner and inner door panels reupholstered and look fantastic. The matching carpet is in very good order. The car has a removable MOMO three-spoke steering wheel, chrome-wrapped Veglia instrumentation. During 1973 the dash was changed, going from two separate pods for the gauges to a unified unit with the dials angled towards the driver. The center console and gated shifter are in great order. This is a radio-delete model.This Panterahas a binder of receipts covering the engine work, photos taken in 2005.The upgraded headers meant the original air-conditioning hardware had to be removed. The previous owner reports the turn signals have to manually held and cancelled and the engine cooling fans run constantly, to keep this cat cool.Competition to this DeTomaso in 1973 included AMCs Javelin, Aston Martins Vantage, Chevrolets Corvette, Ferraris 365 GT4 2+2, Jaguars V-12 2+2 and Maseratis Indy America 4700.This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 80,642 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
