The Delahaye brand was founded as an automobile factory in 1894 by Emile Delahaye. After his death in 1901, the factory in Paris was taken into use. There, both passenger cars and trucks and buses were produced. In 1908 the factory started with the production of its own engines and products were also built by others under license. Delahaye was usually quick with the application of new techniques such as water cooling and cardan drive.
Until the beginning of the Second World War, the factory manufactured rolling chassis that were fitted with bodywork by various coachbuilders. Well-known designs were built by Figoni et Falaschi, Chapron, Letourneur et Marchand and Hermann Graber. Dutch coachbuilders, such as Pennock, also designed bodywork.
Just like before the war, only chassis were sold, which were then provided by coachbuilders with a body. In 1947 the production of the smaller 134 was discontinued and for this the new 175 came in its place. In 1951 the last Delahaye model came on the market, the 235MS.
We offer this special 1952 Delahaye 235 MS Coupe in the color green combined with a cognac leather interior. The dashboard and certain interior parts were sprayed in trompe l'oeil (woodmotif) effect. This 235MS is one of the last cars built by Delahaye, with chassis number 66 of the total of 84 units.
This Delahaye is equipped with 6 cylinder in-line engine with 3.557cc and 3 solex carburetors, this together with the Cotal pre-select gearbox make driving in this Delahaye to something special. The engine number corresponds with the chassis number.
In the past this Delahaye was extensively restored, is still in very good condition and with the preservation of some patina. Of the total of 84 Delahaye 235MS, 47 cars are still known, 28 of these have a Chapron body. This is a very unique car, suitable for 4 persons to tour around and to enjoy.

om Delahaye
Det var en gång i en region känd för sitt vin, ost och snobbiga kypare när fransmännen beslutade sig för att bygga bilar. De kallade sitt bilmärke Delahaye eftersom det lät så fint, och de var ju fransmän - allt måste låta fint!I början av 1900-talet började Delahaye tillverka bilar som var elegantare än en balettuppträdande vid Eiffeltornet. Deras bilar var som parisiska fotomodeller på hjul och drog blickarna till sig var de än kom.
Men fransmännen, typiskt franska, bestämde sig för att göra saker och ting lite förvirrande. De namngav sina bilar med en massa nummer som 135 och 165. Så om du någonsin träffade någon som sa: "Jag kör en Delahaye 165", skulle du tänka att de antingen var matematiker eller bilentusiaster.
Nu, låt oss prata om Delahayes amerikanska äventyr. I denna fantasifulla berättelse stormade Delahaye den amerikanska marknaden, beväpnade med baguetter och baskrar. Det gjorde de naturligtvis inte i verkligheten, men låt oss låtsas att de gjorde det!
Delahaye lanserade Delahaye 135, en bil så elegant att den fick en limousin att se ut som en burk inlagd gurka på hjul. Med sin imponerande radsexfylld motor kunde den susa genom New Yorks gator som en fransk kypare som balanserar ett fat med fin Bordeaux.
Men juvelen i Delahayes utbud var den mytiska Delahaye 165. Det ryktades att den här bilen hade en V12-motor med mer kraft än Eiffeltornet som lyste upp natten. Den var ett konstverk, ett mästerverk som fick Frihetsgudinnan att rodna av avund.
Vad gäller tekniska specifikationer hade Delahaye 165 i vår fantasifulla berättelse en helt påhittad V12-motor som producerade fantastiskt många hästkrafter, tillräckligt för att få till och med en rymdraket att känna sig otillräcklig.
Även om Delahaye faktiskt inte erövrade den amerikanska marknaden, skapade de ändå några riktigt utsökta bilar som beundrades för sin stil och prestanda. De är som det franska vinet inom bilvärlden, kända för sin elegans och sofistikation.
Observera att denna historia är helt fiktiv, och Delahaye erövrade faktiskt inte den amerikanska marknaden. De skapade dock några bemärkelsesvärda och stilfulla bilar som är högt respekterade inom bilhistorien.
