The second-generation Viper debuted in 1996 with significant revisions to the suspension, engine and creature comforts. Vipers - in the spirit of the original Shelby Cobra - were known for being 'knuckle whitening' rides with dodgy handling and over whelming acceleration. The second-gen Vipers managed to increase the acceleration abilities while refining and enhancing the handling and stopping abilities. Now, a Viper was an exhilarating driver's car versus the previous car's reputation as a barely manageable beast. This 97 Viper only has 22k plus miles on the odometer and presents as a well maintained adult owned car. The red paint looks great, and the black interior is rip and tear free. The car rides on the much-improved GTS style, 5-spokes wheels and the car looks showroom new. The only function that has succumbed to time is the AC - which blows cool instead of ice cold. The car runs and drives very well. These early 2nd gen Vipers have the looks of the original first gen brutes with the performance and refinement of the later Vipers. They even added roll up windows for this model! It's a more livable and enjoyable car. They are appreciating in value and with only 22,700 miles on the clock, this would be a great buy for any collection.
