The factory-correct Candyapple Red paint on this truck is that great kind of color that was made legendary by cool cruising Fords like the Mustang. So it can be taken as a subtle hint at what's waiting for you under the hood. But really, with the solid investment in a recent paint application and the white roof, this one just has that perfect old pickup shine. Speaking of shine, the top-of-the-line Ranger XLT trim is easily seen in places like the bright trim that runs from front to back, and below that, the stainless rocker and wheel well moldings. This one even still has the correct wood side trim and high-gloss wood panel tailgate – it's a true preservation master! The full red package starts with the bench seat that provides comfortable cloth for where you site and durable vinyl for the high traffic areas. This factory-correct presentation looks fantastic, and you just don't see seats like this anymore. The same goes for the door panels and dash that both retain their factory red look, as well as plenty of correct premium wood panel trim. You'll slip behind the factory steering wheel, gaze over the factory gauges, and even the factory AM radio is still on display – starting to get the picture on how factory correct this one is? While the factory air conditioning is still keeping you nice and cool, we know your favorite breezes will come from opening the side vent windows and sliding the rear glass. Not only does this give you a great old-school truck feeling, but you also get to hear the dual exhaust growl even better.
If all you did was casually glance under the hood, you might think this is the factory motor. After all, it's just as well sorted as the rest of the pickup, and it has the correct bold blue block and matching air topper. But when you hear this one rumble with authority, you know it's a special V8. In fact, the story on this truck is that a guy who worked at a Ford dealer took the 428 cubic-inch Cobra Jet out of a cop car and installed it under the hood of his truck. So now you have pursuit-level power in a very incognito package. This monster motor has even been upgraded further with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. Out on the road, the power steering and Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 provide the tight control. But what you'll really enjoy is how the three-on-the-tree manual transmission combines the old-school truck feel with complete control over this muscle car motor.
