One of the best-looking two-door classics of the '60s just got even better. Here's a 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 that has undergone a restomod transformation/restoration with stunning paint, a comfortable A/C interior, and serious power for maximum fun.
There's less than 3,700 miles on this Ford since it completed its restoration, and the work seemed to focus on making it a great classic with something extra. For example, the paint stays close to the factory-correct Corinthian White, but Ford couldn't offer this kind of sharp presentation and clearcoat luster that comes from a modern and solid investment. The details are nice, with the bright ornate grille, afterburner style taillights, and full-length trim that showcases the straightness of the sheetmetal. It's such a crisp and clean body, that it really looks terrific with the hint of sharp tailfin in the rear. But all that has to do with the classic style. This announces it's something special with well-integrated details. The bumpers are color-matched for a more modern look. And that contemporary theme carries over to the crystal-clear headlights with LED halos. Plus, those 18-inch Legend alloy wheels and the lowered stance hint at all the sporty upgrades beneath the surface.
The interior has a fresh feeling that continues the car's nice mix of vintage and new. The two-tone blue is a custom take on car's original interior color, and it has thoughtful details like plush floor mats with Fairlane stitching and distinctive yellow piping accenting the seating. And the creamy white of the exterior even return on the door tops, lower dash, and headliner to give this a nice uniform feeling inside and out. This was built with added comfort in mind with cold-blowing R134a air conditioning, a cup holder center console, and a Pioneer AM/FM stereo w/Bluetooth hidden in the glovebox. And while you'll want to share this impressive interior with family and friends, it really is all centered around the driver. Bucket seats and a wood-rimmed steering wheel on a tilt column mean you get an individual level of comfort. And the full Dolphin backlit gauge package with large speedo and tach signals that you'll like what's under the hood.
The clean inner walls of the engine bay funnel all your attention to the bright Ford legend in the middle. The small block era was a few years away when this Fairlane was first build, but the restomod transformation gave it a new and very mighty heart. It's a 302 cubic-inch V8 upgraded with a mild cam, Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer Intake, and BBK headers. The tidy look also lets you see quality supporting components, like newer belts, newer hoses, and a large aluminum radiator w/electric fan. It a quality package that fires up readily and makes a nice rumble from the X-pipe dual exhaust. The undercarriage photos show you the clean look of a nice build as well as upgrades like the tubular A-arm front suspension. Power steering, a three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes with front discs, and modern performance tires make this an all-around great driver.
