Here's a classic 1964 Ford Falcon Ranchero with hint of custom V8 flair, but it also never loses that vintage vibe we all love. The result is an exceptionally cool and useful classic that also is quite affordable.
The upgraded face of the later 2nd generation Falcon looks great on the Ranchero. It gives the car/truck a wider front end and a larger bumper with more bright chrome. The Wimbledon White paint is a classic Ford color, and this is a more modern clearcoat application that uses its gloss to show off the intricate design. So you really get to see the profile's great style line in the sheetmetal that looks like it's pointing the vehicle forward. And the addition of bright dual exhaust tips and Ford's 1960s GT wheels add to this sporty personality. But even with all this, don't forget about the Ranchero's practical side. Beneath the taut vinyl tonneau cover is a handy truck bed. This one looks too glossy to pull lumber yard duty, but it's nice to see a classic that can bring the party with it.
This car was given a thoughtful restoration within the last few years, and the interior shows it with a nice balance of vintage and upgraded. You have a custom two-tone black and gray seat that looks quite fresh while still keeping a 1960s style. It matches nicely with the two-tone door panels and rear shelf. The dark headliner, carpeting, and dash also have a fresh and coordinated feel for an overall quality presentation. You'll love the added details like the Ranchero cover for the rear spare tire and the added wood-like trim of the dash. There's even an upgraded driving experience with white-faced gauges, an added tach, and wood-rimmed steering wheel.
Under the hood, ribbed valve covers, a bright air topper, and an overall tidy setup gives this the look of an upgraded machine. This is upgraded to V8 power, but they made sure to do it in the right vintage way. So they added a 260 cubic-inch motor, which is what was available in the '64 Falcon, and they even used a year-correct block. But this V8 is also enhanced with nice features like an Edelbrock intake and a four-barrel carburetor. You also have components that make driving nice, like the upgraded distributor, Taylor Thundervolt wires, and an aluminum radiator. It's a strong-running package that fires up readily with a sweet tune from the dual exhaust. Plus, the automatic transmission, power brakes, and wide Cooper Cobra tires help make this an easy cruiser.
