Mercury Coupe 1949

Allmän beskrivning : Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is proud to present this completely custom 1949 Mercury 9CM Series Coupe. One look at this car and you know this is something special. The car was originally available with a base price of $1,945. This car underwent a frame off restoration by Big Dick’s Muscle Cars. One of the most obvious custom touches on this Mercury is the slammed stance thanks to its custom air ride suspension. Lower or raise the stance of the vehicle with the flick of a switch. The second most obvious touch on this Mercury is the 11 tooth grill by DeSoto. It gives this Coupe a signature look that is instantly recognizable. The car’s laser straight body is painted a beautiful Tuxedo Black with Mercedes Benz Silver and has a two-tone interior to match. This two-tone interior includes custom sewn front and rear seats, a custom center console with brushed aluminum insert, and a custom dash setup. 1952 Buick Super side trim is a beautiful touch to the exterior. Adding to the sleek appearance of this Coupe is the chopped roof, taking four and a half inches off the top. Additional modifications include the body being channeled, shaved, louvered, and Frenched. The car has a shaved hood, shaved doors, and shaved trunk. The car also has 1959 Cadillac taillights with Toronado brake lights under the rear window. This Mercury sits on a 1967 Ford Falcon Chassis. Disc Brakes up front with Ford Thunderbird calipers help this ’49 stop on a dime. The slammed body sits on four deep dish Colorado Custom billet wheels. Driving this Coupe is a pleasure thanks to power steering and power brakes. The sound system on this ride is quite impressive as well. It starts with a Pioneer DVD/CD receiver with Bluetooth. Then comes the 7-inch display with Bluetooth and Audi streaming. Sounds comes from 2 JL audio 6x9 speakers in the rear deck, 2 JL audio 6.5 speakers in the doors, 2 JL audio 1-inch tweeters, a JL audio 10-inch subwoofer, and finally a JL Audio 5 channel amplifier. The engine bay contains the original Ford 302cid engine that is decked out in aluminum with plenty of performance goodies. This flathead V8 has a Competition Cams camshaft and Edelbrock 600 CFM carburetor. The engine also has a Concept One accessory drive pulley kit. The motor is mated to a Ford automatic transmission with overdrive. Auto Meter gauges put the gauge setup in a very clean layout. It also has air conditioning! This car has power steering, power brakes, remote doors, air ride suspension, power locks, keyless entry, GPS, a DVD flat screen, door poppers and air conditioning. Overall this custom ride is simple yet sophisticated. This car will make a statement while moving or at a standstill. Wherever you go, you will not go unnoticed.
