You are looking at our 1951 Mercury Custom modern day hot rod is well optioned and upgraded with the best in custom hot rodding. This rare 1951 Mercury Coupe has been completely restored, customized, and built into an amazing one of a kind hot rod that will turn many heads. It is a very solid rust-free Florida car and will please the lucky owner with the amazing look and stance. It features a smooth running 383ci v8 stroker supercharged motor and a 700R4 automatic transmission. Just look at this masterpiece, the re-sculpting of the body and the color are phenomenal. The Mercury was a long-term project and was finalized recently and has only a couple of miles on the odometer.
This stunning car has been finished in PPG violet purple basecoat clearcoat. Obviously extensive body modifications have been done and they were done to perfection. The front fenders have been lengthened 4 inches, and the top was chopped 4 ½ inches. The hood that contains the awesome power plant for this Mercury is a custom fabricated ducted hood. All the original trim has been shaved and filled. The doors have power bear claw latches with fobs for opening. Up front there is a lot of "tweaking" on the hood and fenders. The sides feature handmade fender skirts, hump was removed from body line on doors, gas door was filled in. In back the fenders have 1956 Packard Clipper taillights and the roof line has a 1958 Impala-style rear roof scoop. Trunk and doors have no handles and are operated by remote. The Mercury rides on radial tires with Budnik Revolver wheels.
The interior has full custom upholstery including the headliner matches the seats. Has rolled and pleated beige leather. The instrument panel is made up of a 1960 narrowed Impala dash with a custom hand-crafted console containing additional Stewart Warner gauges. The dash is painted as nice as the body. The custom Kenwood stereo fits nicely in the dash with the hidden HD screen and includes the 6 CD changer. The carpet matches the beige seats, and the trunk is upholstered to match.
A real show stopper under the hood. Same phenomenal paint color and quality used on the engine bay. The metal was smoothed out, the firewall is like a purple mirror. The 383 stroker motor is fully decked out in polished parts. The engine has Comp Cams camshaft, Brodix heads, 671 blower, with dual 500 CFM carburetors sitting beneath the custom built cold air intake.
The underneath is the boxed 1951 Mercury frame with a Nova front clip and 2-inch spindle. Front end is rebuilt and has power 4-wheel disc brakes. In back it has a Ford 9 inch rear end with 3.55 gears. It has front shocks and rear air ride suspension. It uses a 700R4 transmission. The Sanderson cast iron headers connect to a stainless dual exhaust, and Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers.
