Affordable honesty never looks this good. That's because there has been plenty of the right investments in this 1963 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 that include shining paint, a sharp interior, and a bold view of the distinctive slant-six motor.
There's a simple reason for a thorough restoration on a car like this: distinction. This first-year, second-gen Valiant looks great with plenty of shine coming off the light blue paint. It's a modern clearcoat application with a metallic element to really make it pop. Rivaling the paint for the shine are the bright chrome bumpers, new headlights/bezels, and complete trim package. And the premium Signet line has a great pillarless hardtop look. You can really understand that Chrysler's designers took their time to build a detailed style. For example, there's a full-length crease in the sheetmetal that hooks around the front for a sporty sweep. This signature item also flows into the front overhang. That's pure style, and you get to see it so well on this crisply presented classic. It's a very vintage and complete total presentation. Under the hood is a year-correct 170 cubic-inch motor. Mopar's distinct Slant Six really stands out in the tidy engine bay thanks to plenty of bold orange. This motor was also part of the restoration investment. There are some stealthy-done factory-style pieces, like the rebuilt carburetor, new hood insulation, and new copper radiator core. Other pieces are more obvious upgrades like the newer alternator, gas tank, and Pertonix distributor. The other reason why it drives with confidence is a solid investment in the suspension work. It includes KYB shocks, a complete front-end rebuild, and the brake lines were even replaced.
