A Pontiac rumble seat coupe already had a premium distinction when it was new, but over 85 years later and it becomes a true rare treat. Inside is more of the beautifully restored '30s extravagance. The gray cloth seat look nicely restored with a plush button-top presentation. You have the large classic-style steering wheel with Pontiac center cap, floor shifter, and full gauge package. So this one delivers a terrific classic car experience. The roll down rear window is a nice way to really get ventilation moving through this coupe. Of course, that feature also helps you talk to anyone you might have in the back, too. The rumble seat is finished in a durable gray vinyl, so it makes for an ideal outside seat.
Under the butterfly hood is a correct 223 cubic-inch straight eight. These long blocks are always great to draw a crowd. So it's nice to see that they spent money restoring the motor without losing the vintage feeling. That means a big green block, oil bath air cleaner, and a classic generator. Best of all, this torquey motor makes that proper 1930s sound going down the byways (you know, the one where the single exhaust sounds like a winding generator with a hint of throatiness.) You can handle around-town driving without breaking a sweat thanks to the three-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drum brakes.
