In 1973 Pontiac built and sold some 46,313 Firebirds, 4,802 of these were Trans Am’s, 252 were Super Dutys and of these 252 only 180 were equipped with an automatic transmissions! Now, factor in the Brewster green exterior with saddle tan interior and let’s just say you will not pass yourself on the way to the car show. This 1972 Super Duty for sale is fresh off a full restoration and looking like the day it rolled off the showroom floor. Numbers matching from front to back this 1973 Trans Am for sale has the bullet proof 455 Super duty engine under the hood which the factory claimed in 1973 to have a ground pounding 290 horsepower, that’s right 290HP. I think the factory fudged a little on this one. Take 455 cubic inches of displacement, add heads that flow even better than the ram air IV’s, multiply that by a four barrel carburetor and that equals, wait, carry the one, divide by 3.14, ok I’am not sure, but surely more than 290!
