Porsche 911 Carrera Sport 1985

Allmän beskrivning : Equipment

Pearl White Metallic paintwork (PTS), Half leather / Porsche cloth upholstery, Heated and electric Sports seats, 5-speed manual gearbox, Sport Equipment: 16-inch forged Fuchs alloy wheels in Pearl White, Front and rear spoilers, sports shock absorbers; Electric sunroof, Blaupunkt Bremen radio with USB and Bluetooth, Remote central locking, Recoil bumpers front and rear, Bumper oil cooler vent, Spare wheel, Tool kit, Spare key and remote fob, C16 (UK specification).

Exterior

Looking every bit the 80s icon with its factory Pearl White paint, colour-matched Fuchs wheels and oversized rear spoiler, this 68k mile 3.2 Carrera Sport presents very well indeed. Having just been treated to a full machine polish by our in-house detailer the paintwork is deeply glossy with little more than an honest dusting of light frontal stone chips to report. All the plastic trims and rubber seals remain in very fine fettle and the lights are clear all round with no signs of any moisture ingress.

Very nicely spec’d in PTS (Paint to Sample) ‘Pearlglanzweiss’ and boasting the all-important Sport Equipment package comprising larger forged Fuchs wheels, front and rear spoilers, and sports shocks with a lower ride height, this is a very attractive and genuine low mileage example in a rarely seen colour combo.

Interior

The interior also presents really well with minimal wear to the deeply bolstered sports seats – a desirable factory option and a great complement to the exterior paintwork, especially with the contrasting piping. Dark grey trim extends from the seats to the door cards, steering wheel, dash and centre console, all in very good order and again hinting at only light use. The original carpets are also in excellent shape and are protected in the footwells by genuine Porsche overmats in complementing grey. All the switchgear operates as it should, including the electric sunroof, and we’re pleased to note the subtle addition of a period-style Blaupunkt head unit with all the conveniences of USB and Bluetooth. Under the bonnet the luggage compartment is very tidy with the spare wheel and tool kit both still present.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Reading through the accompanying history file it’s clear that the car has been maintained to a high standard throughout its life with 18 documented services, all done by either Porsche main agents or marque specialists. In recent years the car has mainly resided in storage with very few miles driven – less than 2,500 since 2009 – and so maintenance has been less frequent. The most recent service was carried out by Sussex Aircooled in September 2021 little over 1k miles ago but, for the new keeper’s peace of mind, a fresh service will be carried out upon sale.

As to be expected with the low mileage the engine feels strong and the car pulls well through the gears. These 3.2s are always very enjoyable to drive, and this one further benefits from the upgraded Stomski Racing precision shift coupler allowing more confident and precise gear changes through the original 5-speed box.

History File

First registered in August 1985, this 3.2 Carrera Sport was supplied new by Gordon Ramsay Porsche in Newcastle upon Tyne. The original maintenance book is fully stamped and there are invoices for all subsequent service work in the accompanying History File. The original Porsche document wallet and manuals are also present in the paperwork along with a raft of invoices, MOT certificates, detailed ownership history, and a spare key. Given the low mileage of only 68k the service history is very comprehensive (detailed below). The last service was carried out at 67k miles but a fresh service will be completed upon sale.
