Just arrived - an original RHD AC Cobra 289 Mk2
This very desirable Cobra was built by AC cars in late 1964 and is one of only 42 built to RHD specification. It was registered on January 1st 1965 and sold to its first owner a Mr Brendan Bowles of Glamorgan. It was later sold to Lord Dundas in 1967 before moving to Australia with its third owner in the 1970s. In early 1981 the Cobra was sold to a Mr Donnelan who had the engine, transmission and suspension rebuilt and the bodywork restored and repainted in dark green. By the early 1990s the car had been professionally repainted again, this time returning it to the correct Guardsman Blue colour it wore when new.
Returned to the UK in 2002, the car was re-registered under its original number (DNY539C) and entered a private collection where it has been maintained to the highest standards and received a full engine rebuild.
Recently acquired by Woodham Mortimer this delightful Cobra retains a wonderful degree of originality and, being recorded in the World Registry of Cobras and GT40s, has an excellent provenance.
